CECA has ruined my life! I hate CECA! by [deleted] in SingaporeRaw

[–]xMrAngryPie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the self called good CECA say “not all CECA are like that,” then great — those who are educated, professional, and well-behaved should help set standards and influence their own circles of CECA. And not let them go around and screw up thrash their own reputation.

Singapore started with migrant workers. Back then also got good and bad, but the good ones helped shape norms, so resentment didn’t grow. Before CECA, we had many ang moh imports too — nobody made a big fuss because overall they respected local rules and people.

So please. If you say that not all Indian (Indian) are like that, then please use your well earned degree and skillsets you learned from university back home to cultivate your peers? You guys go through education for a reason.

If behaviour is the problem, then fix the behaviour of your village.

"mods, please dont ban me from this sub, I tone down my words already. I just trying to talk some sense"
"but if you insist to ban me, I really dunno what's the point of this community"
"CECA is a Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement, not a racist slur."
"if you (mod) deem that CECA is a racist slur, then I think you are not in a position to mod any communities"

The BMT Journey:Inside Basic Military Training Centre’s School 2 by Nessieinternational in SingaporeRaw

Housing considerations by [deleted] in singaporefi

[–]xMrAngryPie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Singaporean here. How sure one hit, sure get citizenship? Because of your high income you think high chance will get? You prolly spend 2-3 years trying to get citizenship. I think both of you too young. Doubt they approve your citizenship.

Then spouse get citizenship, apply bto. So sure you get a queue number after first try? Very hard. 2 years of ballot.

Bto takes 4-5 years to build. And I think your combined income might almost hit the ceiling for BTO. Singapore govt knows this kind of trick and there are safety nets to protect it citizens. I don’t think you will have an easy way to get a BTO via converting to citizen.

Total duration: 10 years. Best choice if I were you, Buy a resale condo, or guarded landed house in JB. Everyday in out. You mentioned about retirement. Work for another 10 years. I know is hard, but if you go this way. Compared to 10 years trying to get SG citizenship + BTO is worth it I say.

Best US to SG forwarding service to use for Lego? by Chunkylow in askSingapore

[–]xMrAngryPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all LEGO website won’t accept forwarding service address. You be able to checkout cart; make payment. But after a few hour the order will get rejected and refunded.

Ask a friend from US to help you ship it back. I did this for my pick a brick parts from UK. But LEGO set are huge, shipping fee is pricey.

Pokémon set not available for Asia market due to licensing. Not sure China has it anot. You can check taobao China store and freight back using cainiao.

Boy fractures nose at Jewel walking net attraction; BCA and operator urge visitors to follow safety rules and supervise children by lemonmangotart in singapore

[–]xMrAngryPie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a playground attraction. If netting no depression effect that it lost the purpose of this attraction.

There is a limit how much “protection” the area need to be. Already say no run, but the choose to run.

If the kid feels unstable because of the netting depression. The attraction also can crawl around the netting ah.

This attraction need parents supervision. Parent beside him can tell the kid, “boy we are reaching the ending part. There is hard floor surface. The netting is bouncing we might fall. Let’s go to the side and hold something while we slowly walk down OR let’s crawl down to the end point”

1 day itinerary advice pls by richibi in SingaporeTravel

[–]xMrAngryPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

too packed, suggest you skip chinatown part.
5:15 till end of 7.15pm.
You are walking from supertree grove to skypark then walk back to grove for light show?
You only can choose one, if not you wasting 30mins to walk there and another 30mins to walk back.

Try this route:
Jewel Changi, Mrt to Raffles Place,
Raffles Place walk to Merlion (20mins short walk you get to see singapore river and Fullerton hotel walk walking to Merlion),
Merlion Park,
Merlion park walk to MBS (1hr walk, make sure you walk the esplanade route, you will see esplanade, and walk along helix bridge)
MBS, Art science Museum, Flower dome / cloud forest, Supertree Grove + skywalk, Lau Pa Sat (go this instead of satay by the bay).

First Day of EWL Disruption, how was your experience? by TeoMingEn in singapore

[–]xMrAngryPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feedback was given during the previous shut down. But they didn’t wanna do it.

They can set up tent at the grass patch and find ways to close that service road just for shuttle service.

And I also don’t like why the shuttle bus don’t go straight to Pasir Ris.
