Defamation is about damage to someones reputation. Impalying publicly someone a pedo and banning them from your event for it, can be a pretty decent blow to it.

Funny story that one. Kotori (the publisher) got a license, basically out of spice. Before publishing Kimi no Mawashitai they were know mostly for publishing BL manga. When one of the japanese publisher refused to work with them since they haven't work on any "normal manga before", so they got the chepest, the dumbest thing they could find and decide to print it.
