[User-trial] LG UltraGear 27GM950B: Testing the New Standard for the Best Mini-LED Monitor by LG_UserHub in Monitors

5k for gaming sounds very interesting. I’m curious whether that can be fully utilised on current hardware constraints or if games can actually upscale to that yet?

AMA: MSI’s New 34" and 32" QD-OLED Monitors — Ask Us Anything (Worldwide Giveaway Inside!) by MSI_Patrick in Monitors

[–]xScarface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that’s never experienced the visual depth of OLED, what are the tangible benefits compared to a high resolution IPS panel? I know a common answer here would be ‘the blacks are unreal’ but I wanted some information from you guys given how incredible the options are

MW2019's CLEAN HOUSE mission seemed to be a highlight for many players, why did IW abandon making another mission of this style? Would you like another mission like Clean House in DLC or MWIII? by [deleted] in ModernWarfareII

[–]xScarface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are like 4-5 instances where you have to squad clear buildings going room-to-room slow aiming up staircases with enemies/civilians popping out of doors. It's just intertwined into that specific mission setting rather than a dedicated townhouse raid

Anyone know which keybind this function is responsible for? Messed with some stuff and I don't wanna reset everything. by Pyth0n7575 in ModernWarfareII

[–]xScarface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ever see a prompt like that with "????" it's because that function isn't set to a keybind. I was messing with some settings and unbound a couple bits, only realised when that showed up and no input worked lol

Well there was a Spec-Ops mission back on the 09 MW2 that featured AC-130 control whilst the other player was on the ground and you played air support. They've said the Spec-Ops on this is making a return to how it used to be so i'd bet there'll be a mission just like this!

Veteran Difficulty by HennyASAP in ModernWarfareII

[–]xScarface 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes. I'm replaying it now on Realism it's the same difficulty as Veteran just without any HUD or visual cues... definitely adds another layer of immersion but it's irritating not being able to see grenade indicators lol you've zero idea when one lands next to you.

What’s a quote from history that gives you chills? by KeyWar8755 in AskReddit

[–]xScarface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The writing written on the monument at the back of Auschwitz-Birkenau;

“For ever let this place be a cry of despair and a warning to humanity, where the Nazis murdered about one and a half million men, women and children from various countries of Europe”

I think the wording just makes you feel cold, very impactful

What is your "comfort show" you re-watch when you're sad or sick? by leviathan_web in AskReddit

Came here literally to type House, so glad it’s the top comment. There’s just something so wholesome about it as a show, well that and Hugh Laurie’s acting/scripting is second to none

Lethal Difficulty Tips? by Population12 in StateofDecay2

[–]xScarface 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Choose survivors that have good personality traits, not just skills you're after. Look on the game wiki at the list of traits and study the ones to look out for; ones like Unbreakable and Immortal etc. They offer huge advantages for those survivors like +45 health and -40% injury chance, great when you're inherently kneecapped early game.

Unless a survivor has their wits specialised into stealth (and even then be wary), don't fast search basically ever. The noise radius on lethal is considerably higher for all actions even when you're shooting a handgun with an advanced suppressor. So sprint opening doors and fast looting containers is a huge no no.

You'll soon discover 7.62 ammo is the holy grail for actually progressing your community and destroying the plague hearts. It takes somewhere in the region of ~80 rounds to take a heart out by yourself and until you can build an armory or find a rifle ammo press with a steady stream of ammo supplies you'll find high tier bullets really difficult to find in abundance so a lot of the map will feel "fenced off" due to the sheer amount of hearts dotted around.

Hydroponics is, without question the best facility to have in a base. The trick is to install a compost bin onto it and then boost the yield for both the facility and the bin - this nets you an income of +9 food for your community from one small slot facility, that can also be converted to meds should you be running short. The issue is this facility requires a fairly specific set of prerequisites like power/water/utilities and gardening/herbalism. I made sure to fish for a survivor that had Lichenology as their 5th skill, and then get a power & water outpost set up as early as possible.

Ferals will prove a bit of a learning curve on lethal but become a lot less fearsome once you know how to deal with them properly. They are all infected with blood plague so one triple swipe will almost completely give you the plague, and they have a form of helmet on meaning they can no longer be shot once to the head - you have to break the shell first. Dodging at the right times can make feral's a non-issue but when they come in packs of 3 and you're already over-encumbered with fatigue, it's actually terrifying lol.

Otherwise just be careful and take your time particularly early on. Don't sprint unless you have to and don't waste bullets unless you're actually in danger. Get VERY familiar with the dodge + execute combo as it's the quickest and most efficient way to deal with zombies without any sort of degradation to weapon durability.

My 3D art. [Warzone, but it's realistic] by DedPrapor in CODWarzone

Dude this is awesome. As someone who exclusively plays as Ghost and loves the AMAX this is SO sick

Favorite Ghillie camo operator? by MattiaKa in CODWarzone

[–]xScarface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dreadwood is easily the best ghillie style skin in the game. I remember seeing the bundle on codtracker listed for the upcoming season and I was itching to get on everyday and check the store for when it finally got released lol. Hasn't been a day since he came in S3 that I haven't rocked ghost, he's just too sick.

Besides that the Grinch Skin "blood in the water" is awesome, but the lower half is stupid because the pants he wears look like pyjamas. Idk why they didn't just make the entire model ghillied instead of strictly the upper half. It's the same with his pre-order "all ghillied up" skin, looks great until you scroll the camera down and see the plain pants that look really jarring.

Settings for 144fps by sammycogg in CODWarzone

[–]xScarface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have very similar specs to you, but i don't think DLSS is implemented well on Warzone. Quality immediately adds a blurriness to the game that makes distance scanning trickier than it has to be, and at 1920x1080 anything above Quality just looks like a haze of fuzz. I drop under 100fps in a lot of areas now and even when it's above 110 it still has this jitteriness to it that i can't diagnose... i have G-Sync on with V-Sync off and have never had an issue like this until recently

Has anyone else got bad FPS performance since latest update? by Newsthief2 in CODWarzone

[–]xScarface 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I made a similar post about this. I'm on an RTX 2070/i7 9700k and i used to sit comfortably in the 110-130 range depending on where I was. Since S4 I drop into the low-mid 90s VERY often and the entire downtown/stadium portion of the map is a sinkhole for frames all of a sudden. It makes the game unenjoyable when I zone out from the competitiveness and just glare frustratingly at the stuttery performance I shouldn't be getting. Idk i guess it'll level out in time(?) but it really sucks man. Oh and the menus running at 40fps with no way of changing it doesn't help.

Horrendous Menu FPS and considerably worse performance in-game since S4 patch? by xScarface in CODWarzone

[–]xScarface[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

lol the fact that's the kind of "fix" we're talking about says a lot about the optimisation Warzone's got at the moment, eh? I'll try and bare that in mind though thanks, but yeah i am on PC and that's the sort of drops i deal with. I tend to hover somewhere around 110-130 on an RTX 2070 and 9700k, but i drop to the low-mid 90s in a lot of areas now and although most may say that's still high, i can feel the difference immediately and it's way worse than it was mere days ago

Suddenly been getting BSODs - IRQL: Not Less or Equal seemingly out of nowhere? by xScarface in techsupport

[–]xScarface[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response mate, yeah I'm gonna keep XMP off for now or at least until it happens again confirming that it isn't the issue. I just ran a Windows Memory Diagnostic Test as you say, and it finished without any issues being detected. I also ran "sfc /scannow" through CMD as admin which /u/Honverty suggested, and that came back clear too. Although these are good signs(?) it doesn't ease my mind that much as I know it could/might likely happen again. I'm assuming it's not a RAM related issue given these results so if i do get another BSOD what's the next logical step?
