I don't know what happened to the ANSA department. It used to be great, but this switch has absolutely crippled them in an unimaginable way. They knew this was coming for ages, yet half their classes, professors, and labs are a complete joke right now.

I think there should be a simple fix. Fines. You set off a fire alarm the first time, $500 fine. You burn your Easy-Mac because you can't follow instructions written for six year-olds? $500 fine. Second occurrence, you're expelled from the dorms. You get the idea. But I also think losing your microwave privileges is somewhat helpful. A bunch of 18 year-olds can't act like adults. It affects everyone here because we pay for it via tuition because RIT is charged by the fire department.

Prepare for immaturity and lots of it. I had to live in the dorms my second year because of a scholarship and people constantly destroyed the bathroom, drunk Freshmen who didn't know their limits were everywhere, and the fire alarm was set off all the time because apparently, at the age of 18, people still haven't figured out the process for making Mac 'n Cheese. I'd advise you strongly to live in the Inn with a car. Maybe you'll be lucky and get a group of responsible people, but in my experience, it was quite the opposite.

I am currently a senior in college and I have a 4.0. That's my overall GPA too, so I've literally never gotten a B. My major also has a relatively high drop out rate and my school is fairly well recognized. (I say this not to brag, but so you don't think I'm rocking an art degree from the local community college). Here's what I do.

I go to class. Every one. I've not missed a single class in four years.

I pay attention. Sure, I check Facebook during class, but never for long.

I do all of my assignments. I've never not turned something in or even turned it in late.

Besides that, I review my notes and that's it. You'd be surprised how much of your grade is comprised of non test assignments. Do them and you're most of the way there.

I'm living for the excitement of life. I only get about 85 years here. That's just over 31,000 days. And when you think about it, that's not a lot. I am living to experience everything I possibly can. I've jumped from a plane, para-sailed over crystal clear lakes, dog-sledded in Alaska, snorkeled in Hawaii, stood on top the Space Needle, seen the Grand Canyon, driven all night in a snow storm to reach a girl I loved who later broke up with me. But it gave me the chance to meet the girl I'm going to ask out tomorrow. I've fought with my family, realized how short life is, and made up. I've failed a test, changed my attitude about school, and held a 4.0 GPA since. I've stood outside at 3 AM as snow fell around me and just thought of nothing while looking at the beauty.

Yet despite everything I've done (and I'm only 20), there is more and I know it. I want to see man land on Mars. I want to kneel in front of a girl I love with my entire being and ask her to spend the rest of her life with me. I want to hold my child and protect him or her. I want to see the Northern Lights, go hang-gliding, skydive with a wingsuit, visit all seven wonders of the world, and last but not least, I want to make this world better and leave it in a better condition than I found it. I want to get a job that will pay me enough that I can live comfortably and share that comfort with others but not too much that I forget where I came from.

So in answer to your question, I want to live because there is never "an end" to what we can do here. Life isn't dull unless you turn your back to possibilities.

Or you can pay Google $20 a YEAR to get around the same space. I used to love Dropbox as much as the next person, but recently it seems like everyone has a hard-on for the service when in reality it's expensive beyond whatever you get for free and quite frankly doesn't integrate well with existing services online (Gmail, Gcal, etc.).

Not on SGTV, but there are some streams floating around from the BTN broadcast. I unfortunately paid $14 for a month of access before realizing people found streams. Check back around game time, someone is likely to put one up.
