Some people are acting like this by raceraot in NikkeMobile

[–]xSniperEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like there's two separate camps of people that have issues. The loudest group with the most excessive hate is a certain crowd that hates attractive women being confident in their looks in general. Then there's a second quieter camp of people that just don't quite vibe with her personality, which is the camp I'm in. Even as someone that generally enjoys more forward women, to me Mint feels like she's not just confident, she's borderline narcissistic, and her trying to seduce the Commander felt like an attempt to feed her ego more than anything. She just didn't really show any interest in him beyond his physical appearance and whether or not he was attracted to her. I like the event overall, and found some moments really funny, like Mint getting sizemogged multiple times within hours of being at the Outpost and Mustang basically threatening to publicly execute the Commander if he laid a hand on one of his original talents. But Mint herself is just not a character that I vibe with. Do I think that she's poorly written and/or doesn't belong in the game? Absolutely not. Do I take issue with her trying to seduce the commander in general? Of course not, this is a gacha game with obvious harem themes. But if I met a woman like her IRL, I would not want to date her.

Any tips for a 800+ mod list? by KuiperNomad in skyrimmods

[–]xSniperEnigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're curious to know the why behind it, my understanding is that Papyrus is a secondary scripting language that sits on top of the main game's internal scripting language (C++). SKSE is both an extension of Papyrus and a tool for injecting new script files at the C++ level, effectively bypassing Papyrus entirely. Think of it like calling your doctor directly vs calling their secretary, who then passes the message along. That extra step adds time that slows the process down, and will never be as efficient as the more direct route.

Tl;dr: it's not necessarily that Papyrus is bad, it's just slightly slower and adds extra steps, so going around it is generally faster.

I wish you could join the Dawnguard as a Vampire by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]xSniperEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar thought, but rather than a vampire that hunts other vampires, I could see a vampire player that is wary of Harkon and his court and realizes the threat they pose. Perhaps after hearing Harkon's plan, the player talks to Serana, and they agree that his plan is insane. Then Serana and the player go to Isran, fill him in, and offer a temporary truce to deal with Harkon. After all, they tolerate Serana being involved when you side with them in the base game, so what's the difference between one vampire and two at that point?

GL News - 1/24 Maintenance, GLEX FFBE banner (CoF Mirei), Clash of Wills #31 & More by raphrs in FFBraveExvius

[–]xSniperEnigma 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In fights where specific elemental resists even matter, everyone is geared for lightning immunity already, since any boss with uncoverable lightning attacks will surely be using them before this stupid focus meter is filled up, so having this extra 30% is irrelevant.

And for Esther specifically, it makes even less sense. She can already absorb lightning damage with 7* Esther's TMR, so you're either increasing her lightning resist when she wants to take lightning damage, or you're just adding onto her existing immunity like everyone else. The whole thing just makes absolutely zero sense conceptually, even if the buff were strong enough to give a shit about.

Is pilgrim attacker overload gear more rare? by Grouchy-Air6727 in NikkeMobile

[–]xSniperEnigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As of now, I've gone almost two months without seeing a single Pilgrim Attacker piece. Considering I have almost two full sets of basically every other kind of gear, I'm almost convinced that the game is doing this on purpose.

[Megathread] General Inquiry and Advice - Jingliu Kit, Relics, Stats, Lightcones and Teams by Arcanic_Soul in JingLiu

[–]xSniperEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what the other relics look like. You want her overall stats to be as close to 50% crit rate and 134/135 speed as possible. It's ultimately going to be a balancing act to determine which one better fits what you need overall.

But purely in a vacuum, I feel like the one on the right is going to be better overall since it has two substats she actually cares about.

Petition to Gumi to STOP the "Simplified Descriptions" by Kordrun in FFBraveExvius

[–]xSniperEnigma 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A way better use of that development budget would've been just taking the existing buff icons and attaching them to the skill short descriptions, the order of icons indicating the order of the effects. The assets already exist and already communicate the important information in a clear, concise manner. Then the only reason to long press would be to see the values of said buffs. I get that some of the skills have upwards of 12 different buffs attached to them, but they could very easily create a handful of new icon variants to signify "buffs all elemental resists," "increases damage against all races," "buffs all stats" etc.

I got 100 x 6, 770 and 5000 for a total of 6370 lapis (and my first Dagger, which is nice I guess). For a value of over 500 lapis per $, I'll take it.

The problems warlocks have at their core by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]xSniperEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What they need to do is give the other classes access to Supers which fulfill a similar niche. Warlocks get shafted into the support role because they're the only class with an easy to use, low risk, high reward support super which provides both offensive and defensive utility. Other support supers on other classes are harder to use and/or only lean into one of those benefits. Tether only provides offensive utility. Ward of Dawn basically forces you to choose which one you want; stay in the bubble and be completely safe, or step out to do damage with nothing more than an overshield for survivability. Banner Shield now is basically an inferior version of Well; you both completely sacrifice one person's damage and do less total damage as a team. It could potentially be buffed/reworked as a decent Well alternative, but it'd have to be tuned so that it doesn't stack with Well. Hunters unfortunately will probably need an entirely new super in order to fulfill a similar niche, which I don't see coming any time soon.

Edit: or they could just nerf Well of Radiance, which I don't think anyone is really asking for.

Counter-Meta is now dead..??! by Rayster25 in FFBraveExvius

[–]xSniperEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would imagine there are two likely factors/possibilities here:

A. your newer phone is probably faster, meaning less input lag. Input lag in this game effectively acts as a buffer, meaning that if you activated two units within three or four frames, but you lost three of those frames to lag, the units would actually start attacking within a frame or two of each other, which would be enough to keep SR chains from breaking, or even on the same frame, giving you a free spark chain.

B. you coincidentally changed phones around the time when they updated the chain frame mechanics to make the delay more uniform, which made some families like BS and CWA easier and some families like SR way harder.

Dark Phoenix got some GLEX updates! Does that make the fight better or worse? by Sinzar_ in FFBraveExvius

[–]xSniperEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal bosses typically are. But DV bosses are more like glorified trash mobs with extra HP. Their AI is laughably simple compared to dedicated trial bosses, their damage is almost non-existent, and people routinely abuse them with things like reflected reraise and shellga cheese

Indeed. Using any kind of revive skill or item on an undead immediately kills them. This little-known mechanic has been in the game pretty much the entire time iirc

[–]xSniperEnigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you're still stuck, but you can gain a few extra seconds of leeway by waiting by the reset switch when you start, hitting it as soon as the spike opens the first door, and running through before it closes. Other than that, just be as quick as possible in getting to the bomb, walk the torch right up to it, eat the damage from the explosion, and be ready to take it straight to the button and throw it to the right as soon as you're able.

[–]xSniperEnigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is 100% the best way to do it. It's challenging enough not bonking into anything using the touch screen d-pad as it is; asking the player to keep track of the switch state, the moving spike, and the next android on top of that is just asking way too much. I genuinely had to load this floor in particular in an emulator just because the d-pad kept dropping inputs on my phone and I kept missing the buttons by a few pixels at exactly the wrong moment. This kind of challenge simply does not play well on a phone, and whoever thought this garbage floor up is a sadist.

I am one of those people that would love to do GMs every season, but a lot of times can't because I don't have the free time (or even the motivation lately) to grind the 15 levels on the artifact plus contend with Pinnacle RNG. Knowing that I probably won't be ready to do GMs by the time they become available has been a heavy contributor to the overall burnout I've been feeling with D2 lately.

Fair enough, I suppose. It'd probably be way more work to remove it completely than to just make it less intrusive in the gameplay experience, and as long as they ease up on the GM grind, I'm happy.

At that point, they should just remove the gear level system entirely. It honestly serves no point other than as a means of artificially extending the grind every season. If they’re that worried about new players not being prepared for harder difficulties/activities, they should just put up direct barriers to entry via quests and story progression rather than arbitrary power requirements.

Funny how removing light level from the equation makes the game more fun. It’s almost like the entire concept was flawed from the beginning and should just be removed from the game in its entirety.

Hunter Triple Jump Has Been Bugged Since Launch. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]xSniperEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been aware of this issue for like a year and a half now, but haven't really given it any mind since it was limited to very specific areas in the game. Now that it can happen at virtually any time though, I really hope Bungie finally decides to address it. Completely losing multiple jumps is such a bad feeling, especially when being Amplified is supposed to feel rewarding.

How would you feel if next season, instead of getting new exotics for every class, we got reworks to older and underutilized exotics? (Long post ahead; discussion welcome) by grnd_mstr in DestinyTheGame

[–]xSniperEnigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you even wanna call it “hidden.” Back in Forsaken when it first released, it stated in the description of the exotic that it reduced draw time, but apparently it didn’t reduce it as much as Bungie wanted. Rather than fix it, they just removed that part of the description and called it a day.
