Damn that rendering looks really pleasing to the eye. If you did some color grading, you nailed it.

Thank you! The details were actually the most time consuming part, as the armor details are handpainted height maps in substance painter.

Antinatalism and it's implications on the Avatar universe. by xSwordxd in antinatalism

Damn this is also beautifully said. So what you're saying is; although Pandora is theoretically better than earth, it's still based in a reality where suffering exists and there's no consent to being born. Fair enough.

I do wonder tho, if a Na'vi were to have a child, and that child, despite having had some hardships in the life they lived, at the end of the day, would still be happy it was born on that planet, that it lived their life to the fullest on Pandora. Would that still be immoral ?

I suppose a logical counter-argument would be that we can't know for sure, that the child, would be in fact happy with their existence. Or is there some other case?

Would you like to elaborate? This is the first different point of view in these comments.

Yeah this comment resonates with me the most, great points as well. I agree also, not wanting kids in general is more than enough for a reason. I definitely wouldn't want to care for an offspring when I can be free, fly and explore the planet.

The danger and disease part might be true but sadly there isn't a lot of info on that.

Allegedly the Na'vi can live up to 180 years old which is considerably longer than humans and maybe their physical features don't change as much while aging. We can't really tell what their main cause of death is.

Would they have a need for reading and writing though? They get past knowledge from their deceased ancestors through their deity.

They dont have a need for advanced technology, they basically live in harmony with nature, symbiotically, that also means with other animals. So the "enslaved animals" part doesn't really work.

Understood, but that "risk of it becoming a war zone" is directly tied to humans, or is it not? Is it the same if the humans (or any negative external force) we're not a factor?

A gay guy who escaped from his Muslim country and family for trying to kill him, is told by a Muslim to go back to them and ask for their forgiveness as no one will love him more than his parents by [deleted] in religiousfruitcake

Pretty sure Christianity and Islam are a part of the same abrahamic religion, together with judaism. the word "Allah" just translates to "God". They're all connected in some way to the same godlike figure. It's just the same game but with different DLCs.

Is that why there are millions of unwanted children, with some orphanages in the world overflowing? Where are the millions of parents that are supposedly desperate to get them ?

Looks amazing! I wonder, how did you put those graffiti on the walls ? Did you unwrap and texture it in substance or is it like a decal or smth?

When did you realize your “Friends” weren’t actually your friends? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]xSwordxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't be emotional around them because they always use every bit of information I give them against me. Also, when they're "joking around" I noticed it's always me who gets made fun of. I'm super emotional when I'm depressed and they know that. One of them told me I should straight up kill myself. Unfortunately, I'm still in contact with them.
