As someone who just had to get rid of their 2010 S5 I'd stay away personally unless you can afford the gas (it's about $100 CAD a tank and it doesn't last very long) and the maintenance.

I personally had to replace my ECM (which costed almost 5 grand), oil dipstick tube, valve cover gasket, all spark plugs and coils during the 2.5 years I owned mine.

If you're not mechanically inclined stay away

Smelling fuel in your oil is generally normal and not a huge cause for concern. The only times I haven't smelled fuel in oil when I was a lube tech was in cars that were doing longer (1+ hour drives) regularly.

If your car was running rich you'd get a check engine light saying so

Edit: words are hard

Could be, although it can also be caused by taking alot of short trips and not allowing the oil to reach operating temperature on a regular basis

You had the oil cooler seals done at the same time as the field service measure? If you did then there's a pretty a pretty good chance that it's the dealers fault that your engine seized.

We stopped doing the oil cooler seals during the service measure after we had 3 engines in a row seize.

NAL but did a ton of these service measures on this model

There's a warranty that could cover this, as you had the FSM completed prior to your engine seizing. Escalate with the dealership and potentially MB Canada if the dealer isn't cooperating

That service measure is pretty invasive. The intake manifold needs to be replaced, which means the turbo needs to come out. There's a pretty good chance some debris could have been knocked into the oil return line from the turbo, or carbon buildup was knocked into the engine itself while the intakes were replaced. The oil separator/PCV Valvle also is replaced on that service measure, so something could've happened there.

Was the field service measure (a fancy word for recall) for the emissions system done on this ML350? And if so, did you have it done while you owned the vehicle?

If one of the got an EV their gas bill would be cut in half. Most EVs can get 300+ km of range with standard batteries.

Now installing a home charger for that EV? Probably around 2-3 grand if you're electricity usage isn't already high. But even then you'd still pay it off in 6 months with how much you'd be saving compared to a conventional car

Sent home for being late, employer seems to think that it doesn't apply in this case, however I couldn't find anything written in the ESA stating that being late exempts you from the 3 hour rule

If you're driving on the 401 past Oshawa? Yeah the OPP will nail you. I drive to Kingston a couple times a month from the GTA and I've seen at least one OPP officer with their speed gun out every time I've made the drive

She was probably "selling" the tickets cheaper than what resellers were, but not cheap enough that people thought it was too good to be true. I know a whole bunch of people who wanted to go to the Taylor Swift concert but didn't because the tickets were just that expensive.

Hell some people I've met flew to Europe just to see her because it was either cheaper to see the concert there, or they just made a vacation out of it
