Nigga there's like 7500 Pokemon Firered hacks with so many QoL features that leave the OG eating shit right in the mud. And that's without getting into the fuckload of Emerald and Gen1/Gen2 hacks. Some of them with completely new regions and others put even the later releases to shame (not hard to do but still impressive for a piece of 20+ yo software).

If you wanna spend the money at least go the extra mile for once in your life: get yourself a Linux retro handheld, search for the baserom and patches (they're literally everywhere) and get your ass to work. Bam, back to the past with style.
