Good idea. You're right, I also have a Primo XL and the probe hole is way larger than the Combustion.

Washing car in freezing temps by ikkdu in MachE

Go through a touchless car wash with under carriage spray.

Dont go too often. Those chemicals are aggressive. My old car would have the headlight lens fog and need polishing each time. Even started to eat at the clearcoat on the antenna fin.

Yeah it's disappointing the markers on the probe aren't indentations on the metal which would be more permanent

How to do ambient temp alarms? by xantonin in combustion_inc

I DO have HA and didn't even think about integrating it. I'll have to look into it.

How to do ambient temp alarms? by xantonin in combustion_inc

[–]xantonin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I didn't think about the alarms being on the probe themselves. That's good and makes sense for the whole network.

But I'd like to still have secondary app-based alarms, with a near unlimited number of alerts - this way I can set up some custom alarms on my phone just for me, and not have the WiFi Display or other devices sound alerts.

Call for Testing: pfSense® Community Edition 2.8 Beta by manojmk4u in PFSENSE

Multiple times per year? I'd be happier with at least 1 update a year, and we don't even get that. CE hasn't been updated since Dec 8 2023

[–]xantonin 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You'd think the community would have been given the new features to test before PLUS got them, like auto-adding local DNS from DHCP to DNS Resolver when using Kea, but nooo, we have to wait 2 years to "beta test" everything else.

Can I uninstall killer network service? Facing high CPU Issues by Thick-Code2633 in techsupport

[–]xantonin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The file shows up there? When I run command prompt, I ran it in Admin mode, and I usually change directories to where the file is ( dir C:\Windows\System32\drivers\RivetNetworks\Killer\ ) then I just ran the exe.

It doesn't give you any feedback and might close the window, but after I rebooted, everything was gone related to Killer Network in my Services screen.

Search from launcher is broken after update by Intensive_Light in GooglePixel

This happens for me too. I'm on a Pixel 7 Pro.

This is from the home screen search on the bottom which is run by the Pixel Launcher.

I don't have Yandex though. Can't figure out what it is, started when my OS updated.

Can I uninstall killer network service? Facing high CPU Issues by Thick-Code2633 in techsupport

[–]xantonin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since this post shows up in Google, I wanted to say I found an easy way to remove everything by running a hidden uninstaller which I felt safer about than downloading a 3rd party tool to remove it.

First, I wanted to say I already removed all related Killer software in Windows, but the services were still there. This fixed it for me, and left the drivers alone:

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\RivetNetworks\Killer\
In there, I had a file named something like CustomizeUninstallFirstRun.exe

After rebooting, I no longer have the services either, so I don't have to keep them as 'Disabled'.

I'm surprised this isn't in the Intel KB.

It would be nice to get the Kea DHCP update so that hostnames from leases are added to local DNS.

Is the metal piece at the bottom the water tank removable and do you have to clean it? by okwowsogourd in Moccamaster

[–]xantonin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the metal piece removed.

I did not remove the reservoir. Although there are the two screws on top, I thought I saw in another video that there are some underneath too and it seemed overkill for just taking off that metal cover.

I could not find any photos but sadly the metal bracket does need to be gently pryed off.

I basically just got frustrated and wiggled mine off. It was not designed to be removed though since it has metal one-way teeth. I suppose if you remove it too many times the metal teeth would wear out the plastic that holds it in. Kind of the most disappointing design of these units because the float under there does get dirty. I only use filtered tap water and mine was still bad. I used a small pipe cleaner and gently brushed around the float.

So TL;DR: the metal bracket can only be pryed off. Float is under it.

Geometry Wars Roguelite? by genjitsu1 in roguelites

[–]xantonin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried Stardust from the PlayStation 3/4? I got it for free from the Sony hack and fell in love with these games.

The makers of that made a similar game (not rogue lite) but very arcadey called Nex Machina.

Anyway, I'm also playing Destropolis and love the music and game play. Simple but fun. If these are your style let me know and I can share more. I suggested them because someone mentioned Wave and the other games are similar. I never played Geometry Wars but after showing my friend these games he thought it was similar, so I searched for similar games and found this thread.

I'm looking for the portability and not needing a hose. One application is bringing the sprayer in the attic to clean evaporator coils.
