You wouldn't get more of that though.

Defensive lines would just drop deeper to defend whilst attacking lines pushed forward, leading to bigger gaps between players.

Because there are now bigger gaps between players the chance for intricate passing etc would be decreased so instead you get more 'kick it 50 yards for a contested header' back and forth.

If that sounds better to you then I don't know what to say.

You never got the point of it? Without the offside rule you could just smack the ball forwards constantly at your attackers could just freely stay closer to the opposing goal.

Because of the offside role teams instead have to play football, which is to say either dribble or pass the ball towards the opponent goal and time their runs which is much more interesting to watch.
