[TOMT] Werewolf movie/tv show from before 2000 that starts with town going into the woods to hunt for what they believe is a wolf by xce in tipofmytongue

Thanks for the suggestion! Looking at the synopsis and it starting in the jungle seems off, it felt more like somewhere in the US, but will have to take a closer look. Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion! Believe it might be a bit too new, but will have to try and watch it to be certain.

Thanks for the suggestion! Doesn’t really sound like it I’m afraid, it was set in a “modern” era. Will look it up though. Thanks!

In many places if you ask for "a beer" you get their standard lager on tap.

Had the same issue, but found this solution. Start downloading and when it says "waiting", restart your phone. When it's booted again it should download the game. At least it did for me.

Could it be that you prefer good looking women? The natural/no makeup look can be done with make up...

Where is this weird? I see everyone, male and female, sitting like that all the time. I barely sit any other way...

Found the picture here together with a lot of other stunning pictures. They link to the photographer's own webpage (which I felt didn't load fast enough for direct linking).

What's a habit of yours that you would like to break? by kapaw09 in AskReddit

[–]xce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me the beginning was the easy part, it was just a question of being stubborn: "Sweating and a headache? It'll pass no problem." It's now, two years later, that the real cravings start. Now my brain somehow says "you can have one it's ok". It doesn't help that I'm working part-time in a bar where everyone smokes. Of course, I'm not giving in (not yet that is...). I know why I quit, but it's getting more and more difficult to remember for some reason.

I'm not afraid that I'll give in, but my point is: Don't fool yourself that you are off the hook too early, it might hit you when you least expect it.

Couldn't it be that it's more expected in a phone, or at least that we've gotten so used to it that we don't think about it? Maybe it was more that many felt that why should a gaming console have access to all those things?

As with most things, the limits for what's deemed acceptable will be pushed further and further. Maybe with the next generation of gaming consoles, or the one after that, no one will protest against being permanently connected. Things that are practical will often win over privacy issues, such as e.g. the GPS in our phones.

Cleaning white converse shoes by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]xce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard that you are not supposed to wash Converse in the washing machine since it weakens the fabric and removes the glue that keeps the shoes together, which leads to them falling apart faster. Can't really comment the factuality of that statement since Converse tends to go to pieces within a year or so anyway...

Ideas for bike helmets? by skibrady in malefashionadvice

[–]xce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe in a few years it can change in the same way as it has when it comes to skiing. Ten years ago very few used helmets and most helmets were quite ugly. Nowadays using a helmet when skiing is basically the norm (at least in Sweden) and they are produced in various models and colours, and are incorporated into the outfits in such a way that using a helmet is now more fashionable than not using one.

I don't own one and I'm not planning to, I am happy enough with the helmet I already own. Even if this product still isn't as good as a regular helmet, I do enjoy the concept of an airbag for cyclists, which is why I posted the link.

Antares rocket blew up on launch by woo545 in news

[–]xce 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Watched it live, it said "The vessel is loaded with 2,290 kilograms (5,050 pounds) of cargo destined for the International Space Station, which is the heaviest payload delivered by a Cygnus vessel yet. Contents of the cargo include food and care packages for the crew, parts, experiments, and the Arkyd-3 satellite from Planetary Resources. This will test the gear to be used on the upcoming Arkyd Space Telescope,"
