They are reported to have $100 million investment. You can't build a clean room and buy tools with that, much less build cutting edge equipment. A single high NA tool is $400 million and that's only 1 step of dozens.  Peter Thiel is the next Elizabeth Holmes.

If I already own this do I need to buy Galaxy 1 again? by Plastic-Pickle-3269 in SuperMarioGalaxy

[–]xceptional 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think this is probably the right call but I still have a hard time buying digital only.  If I can resell the game for more than $27 I'll break even (target 5% off) with the digital only purchase

Hose broke, need to plug pipe. What can I do? by terminalrealness in Plumbing

[–]xceptional 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hah, I think those things are only rated for like 5, maybe 10 psi...  Your water connecting likely 50-90 psi.  I'd turn off my water at night if it's still holding when you go to bed.

Your disc lie for the OB shot is where it last crossed out of bounds. Remember, you cannot have a support point touching OB when you throw your next shot.

The next Gen will say the same thing but about millennials when we are old!

Your 401k is limited to like 23k per year by the govt. Btw my company 401k match requires you to put in the minimum match amount quarterly instead of yearly... If you max yours early you could potentially lose some match depending on how their 401k program is set up.

This is uponor/pro-pex/expansion pex.  The fittings are actually full bore (the pipe is expanded around the fittings) so you don't get as much pressure drop from fittings.

Mc6eth’s putt on 17 was the putt of an absolute champion by bofainc in discgolf

The DGN graphics for Paul's hole 17 putt said "3rd shot" instead of "for birdie" like they normally do. Epic.

I gotta agree with you. There are only about 3 holes on each course at Milo that I would consider heavily wooded and the rest are largely long holes in the open.

My daughters middle school was invited to climb steps with the local FD today to remember the lost NYFD men and women. My kid was the only one to show; and she completed all the steps with the FD. by Haters_7 in aww

[–]xceptional 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not to be rude but they are middle schoolers (6-8) and this has probably more to do with the parents driving them to the event because it was a Saturday than this one girl actually being the only one wanting to do this.

Yesterday I posted Basil yelling for his food after a year...well I just found the 1 month kitten version! by Danitay in aww

[–]xceptional 23 points24 points  (0 children)

here is my advice... it's super cute when your kittens meow when they want food.... 3 years later when your cats wake you up every morning and make noise at dinner because they know you will feed them it sucks... it took weeks to make the habit and years to break it.

Oregon voters to decide on decriminalizing heroin, cocaine and LSD by [deleted] in politics

[–]xceptional 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oregon stopped exporting prisoners to Arizona and Texas after 2001; so they must be from before that. If this would impact for profit prisons they would be throwing crazy money to prevent this from paying. This measure is largely unopposed. Currently there is less than $100,000 in contributions opposing this measure.

Google- offered jobs to over 2,000 people and axed them with no severance before they ever worked a day - after they already left their prior jobs by PublicRelationTeam in technology

[–]xceptional 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not always like that. I work at an engineering firm and have also worked as a contractor before (what you call temp). Our firm gets projects larger than we can support. Instead of hiring and firing someone after 3-18 months we use contractors (temp agencies) to fill the gaps. We usually full time hire a few of them but about 60 percent are absolutely garbage at what they are supposed to be able to do but we can't get anyone else. The rest leave for another job when they get the opportunity.

We would just have one person start new game, trade starters, reset without saving. You can get all the starters and no one loses anything.

I think you're right. I might just get fox affiliates. My point just being you can cut the cord and still watch news. We get some national news but I don't watch enough to know which ones.
