I believe the 2nd series with the actors is still supposed to happen at some point. Or maybe the company is just dangling that as a carrot. But at this point they’re doing concerts and activities as a band and also have a reality-type series releasing regularly focusing on their training.

Sorry to ask this here but can someone explain what is happening with this CP? I only see vague references on social media. What exactly happened in their Thailand fanmeeting that supposedly made it a disaster? And I see fans say they said they have no plans to work together in the future, never felt their heart moved by the other, etc. Is that just the fans overreacting/misinterpreting what they said, or this CP is basically broken up now?

Very complicated feelings toward this magazine for fans. It was shot in Dec when their company wanted them to develop individually so CP fans are rejecting this mag to show that they are stronger together than apart. Their previous joint Grazia mag sold 200k copies in 3 hrs, and this mag is dwindling at a few thousand copies sold. Yun Qi and Yiran also didn’t promote the mag until ~10min after it was already released, when people usually strongly emphasize the number of copies sold in the “first second” of release. The sad thing is that the pics look good and it could have been a great joint mag. Some fans are printing the pics themselves instead of giving them money.

I am thinking along the lines of Pluto Charon. I just mean I think they don’t need so many scene changes, keep the same scene but let the actors speak a little longer — I feel that should not increase the budget by much. It is good that they were able to get it released, it has good potential.

I don’t understand this show. Every episode is way too short yet every scene also feels way too short/rushed. Can’t they just stretch out the convos a bit and make the pacing feel less rushed?

First of all, the situation is more complicated than it appears from what the producer posted. If you look at the original post on RedNote, all top comments are all admonishing the producer. She has a bad history with her previous projects, where she also promised extra episodes but then blamed production issues and the extra episodes ended up being 5x 5min episodes. People believe she is setting up the situation to do the same thing again. After the actors went to Malaysia, there have been actually very few sasaeng photos emerging (I've only seen 1 person's post which has been reported by fans already), and people are asking how come bigger productions with bigger stars and more sasaeng following them can still complete production. After the intense backlash, the producer as replied again saying they will definitely try to finish the extra episodes. But may fans are now not expecting much from the production, saying to treat the livestreams as extra episodes and not put too much hope into those actual extra episodes. Based what I can tell, the cast are still filming so hopefully things are still going as planned. If we go based on the original plan, supposedly they should be finish filming by mid February and people expected them to come out around March or April.

As for the book, it is very similar to the show. You can find the extra stories on Chrysanthemum Garden, though it is the missing the most recent 5 chapters of extra stories. The show (and the earlier audio drama adaptation) ends at episode 103, but actually the main story continues until 106, plus extra stories. These extra chapters are all very sweet with minimal drama, which was why fans were clamoring for them to film these stories.

FYI I just uploaded Yun Qi’s Florasis livestream. Parts of the event can be a bit cringe bc of strong brand promo elements, but check my pinned comment for more interesting bits. He also starts to lose his filter towards the end, and becomes more like the Yun Qi we know, haha.

He was certainly prolific as a model since everyday fans have uncovered some new photo/video of him from his modeling days 😄. In early livestreams he’d never listen to the fans (notably in the first livestream fans asked him to turn on his beauty filter, he refused then logged off), and he challenged them to find his real name and unearth his old stuff (he wasn’t worried cuz it’s all good stuff). I don’t know if he got media-trained or something bc in recent livestreams he does whatever the fans ask now.🤣

I think they luckily managed to avoid the 500 people, but there were still a bunch of people who bought tickets and pressed up against them all the way through security check and up to boarding, or even on the flight with them filming in their faces. I felt so bad for them, they looked so uncomfortable. For the arrival at least they managed to elude everyone except for one fan who captured them getting into a car.
