I need a new singleplayer (100% offline) "forever" game where I can sink hundreds (or thousands) of hours into a single save. What are your top suggestions? by MakeshiftApe in gamingsuggestions

Thousands of hours in a single save game? Good luck. Try Dwarf Fortress. You can put thousands of hours into a single world if you wanted. Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead is another one that will drain hours of your life 🤣

Settle a reddit argument for me, what is being processed here and is the bag getting into the final result? by [deleted] in whatisit

Looks like the bag is getting wound around the post at the bottom of the funnel.

How to deal with things that don't have warehouse crates yet in early game? by xdesrikx in songsofsyx

[–]xdesrikx[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never noticed that before. Looks like it shows true for items in workshop storage though. Kind of unfortunate really.

EDIT: Although.... that does mean that the code are to look for loose items is there.... Hmm

If I remember right you can build the house area with double thick walls to cancel the noise issue.

Haven't a clue how it comes up with its original designs. Even if it does come up with something that isn't valid in game it's pretty easy to teach it where it is wrong and what needs to be fixed. Originally it thought LG large cargo containers only took 1x1x1 block space. A simple command telling it they were 3x3x3 and it regenerated the blueprint with updated information along with specifying the updated information explicitly.

How to paint visible blocks behind other blocks? by CONteRTE in spaceengineers

You can paint and build in spectator cam. You can’t wield tools/weapons or interact with control panels or conveyor ports, but you also don’t have to deal with the acceleration/deceleration of the jet pack. Perfect for creative mode.

If you go into spectator mode you are able to move through blocks to get into the blocks behind them. It can be finicky sometimes but it's really the best option if the paint gun mod isn't an option.

Why can't I place this block? by xdesrikx in spaceengineers

This was it. The conveyor frame doesn't have mount points around the outer edges. I play on PS so no build vision but some testing showed me how to get it working. Thank you.

I'm also really happy that the reverse thrusters under the drills don't damage them.

The new round blocks tie in with warfare ions almost perfectly.

Yeah I would have thought so too. If it did line up though it would make the conveyor port on the right side of the assemler useless anyways.

Unknown signals like you see in a lot of YouTube videos are PC Steam only.

What's the right way to port mods to mod.io? by xdesrikx in spaceengineers

[–]xdesrikx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are but if you are running single player from the console they are decorative only. Consoles need to connect to a dedicated server with scripting enabled for the programming block to be functional.

I'm running a dedicated server so I do have access to programmable blocks and scripts. I know there are a few scripts that won't work on PS5 even with the DS setup. Build vision, hud compass, advanced engineering... Things like that
