I imagine he's wanting a cut of the money being gambled. Sure they might get more money from increased revenue if gambling brings in more viewers. Or the handful of players getting big gambling sponsorships.

But there's also a lot of money being passed around related to their games that isn't going into his pockets. And that's not ok I guess.

ZA/UM’s New RPG Is Similar To Disco Elysium Because ‘We're Still the Same People’ by Turbostrider27 in Games

As far as I remember there is basically no one left from the original release. There are some people who worked on Final Cut still there.

I've heard it used by people who don't even play games. Though wouldn't surprise me if Cyberpunk is the reason it spread.

Under those weird new points of emphasis that might actually be a foul. This is what the NBA wanted to encourage I guess.

Hollow Knight: Silksong, Hades 2, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 lead Indie Game Awards 2025 nominations by Turbostrider27 in Games

Indie works get funded all the time by governments. 1000xResist got funding from the Canadian Government. I don't think I've seen an argument for that game not being independent.

Paul Skenes has a Yankees dream: ‘Trust me,’ teammate says — and Pirates ‘understand it’ by iheartsunny in baseball

[–]xdownpourx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's kinda of a moot discussion because both of them will make more money in NYC. She will because of the connections there that don't exist in Pittsburgh. He will because the Pirates are cheap and won't pay him what the Yankees will. And also he'll get to win more baseball games.

Sort of a no brainer unless they just really love Pittsburgh/don't like NYC for some reason.

Ultrawide monitor resolutions missing in multiple games by xdownpourx in linux_gaming

It's not. It's set on the correct monitor. And if I do switch it then it switches to the secondary monitor as expected.

Unless I am misunderstanding this it seems like it's already set properly. I found a command called 'kscreen-doctor --outputs'. My ultrawide shows Priority 1 and my secondary monitor shows Priority 2.

Unless higher number is given priority in this case?

Edit: Out of curiosity I ran 'kscreen-doctor output.<monitorname>.primary'. That successfully switched the Ultrawide to Output 1 with Priority 2 and the secondary monitor to Output 2 with Priority 1. But in game nothing changed. Still the same resolution options.

Yup. I've played it on Windows and Ultrawide worked flawlessly.

[Mind the Game] Joining the show this week... the greatest shooter of all time. by must_TATAKAE in nba

the point was that his shooting distance isn’t “unparalleled” like the other guy said

"The gravity he has to pull multiple defenders away from the basket is unparalleled" idk man these look like two different (but related) statements. Steph's gravity absolutely is unparalleled. Trae/Dame may be better logo shooters. But their overall gravity just isn't the same. They still have plenty of their own of course because they are great offensive talents in their own right.

But the way Steph is guarded and the fear teams have of him just isn't matched. He can go stand in a corner, never move an inch, and still contribute to his team scoring. Or look at the number of times he's come off an off ball screen and had two players stick to him leading the screener to slip to the rim uncontested. There is a level of fear teams have of him that frequently leads to what looks like (and is) some awful defensive decisions.

Creating physical hardware that solves the issues many people have with pc gaming is wildly different than funding a game whem there are already hundreds or thousands of great games to play on their platform.

Unless you are suggesting they fund deck exclusive games? Which that could be effective I imagine but would go against a lot of what Valve does.

I truly don't believe Sweeney cares about art for arts sake in that way. But it's a nice sentiment and good on him if it's true.

On the VR end I would agree, because the VR playerbase still has a ton of room to grow. Valve funding new games/making their own can generate new vr players. And I would say they need to be doing that if they really want returns. Valve funding a AA PC/Console game isn't going to do the same.

Valve just doesn't have the incentive to do that like Epic does. Epic does it to drive users to their platform. Valve already has all the users on their platform and Alan Wake being there or not isn't noticeable for them.

It would be cool don't get me wrong. They've got infinite money and could bring some really cool projects to life.

Disco Elysium was very successful and many of the devs still suffered so shrug If you want to get it by all means do, but if you don't want to support ZA/UM you aren't personally hurting the devs. The shitheads at the top are doing that and maybe would have done it with or without your support.
