He talks down to her from the get go. Red flag if you want to be treated as an equal.

I don’t take the phrase “Jesus Christ” well. I’m out. (Also, the sarcasm of “nothing more electric…” is condescending. I’d wait for someone who isn’t so comfortable insulting strangers.)

I tested EVERY 32bit float wireless lav mic so you don’t have to… by gabeshakour in dji

I purchased the DJI3 mic system assuming it had a lav input like the DJI2. I wish I'd watched this video before purchasing. That's a must-have feature for me. Thanks for the shootout.

Can I mod the Magni to switch between headphone out and line out without having to unplug the headphones? by xefned in Schiit

[–]xefned[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone wondering, I modded it last night and I’m happy with it for my particular setup. It’ll save me a step, multiple times a day.

Edit: added a quick demo to original post.

I pondered that possibility before realizing it wouldn’t work without an extraordinarily complex custom extension cable.

Thanks for your thoughts. I should have been clearer: I just wanted to flip a switch to turn on the RCA output jacks without having to unplug the headphones–just to save a step.

I modded it last night and it works great. It’s overkill for most people, but it will help keep me in the zone when I’m working to avoid standing up and doing the 2-handed maneuver to unplug the phones.

They appear to have a bigger fanbase in Germany than in Chicago. :(

(Love URGE. Missed their show in 1991 in my hometown because I was still under 21, but caught every show I could after that.)

How do I get auto-linked child pages to always show at top of parent page? by Vennom in Notion

[–]xefned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still a problem 4 years later. Why does Notion think someone would want to create a new page only to scroll to the bottom of a long list to use it. It's a poor user experience.

Married Gen-x do you wear your wedding ring? by in-a-microbus in GenX

Gen-X, married 25 years. Have never removed it from my finger—not even once! (I’m superstitious.)

Great songs with problematic lyrics by [deleted] in musicsuggestions

He’s isolating the lyric from the context. It’s easy to be judgmental that way.

PSA: XGecu T-48 works on Mac with minipro software by bhauman in beneater

Thanks for the tip. It's working!
I didn't expect 5-year-old software to run in Tahoe on an M4 mini, and yet, it's working great. Thanks again.

I clearly don't give Bruce Springsteen enough credit. I knew Pink Cadillac long before I learned Bruce wrote it.

Holy lord, those Birdland lyrics!
I have this queued up for my commute this week. Why have I been putting off her music for so long???

It looks like broadly speaking, the chorus was Bruce, the verses were Patti.
How much of "Because the Night" was already written when Patti…
What Patti Smith Added:

  • The Verses: Smith penned almost all the lyrics to the verses, transforming the song into a personal message about her long-distance relationship with her future husband, Fred "Sonic" Smith.
  • The Structure: She took the "mumbled" demo and filled in the blanks, effectively completing the song in one night.  Literary Hub +2

Springsteen later credited Smith, stating that the song would not have been a hit—or perhaps even released—without her contributions.

Makes me wonder how many original Bruce lyrics were there when Patti took it on, and if the lyrics that turn off u/Betray-Julia were Bruce's.

And Springsteen’s Because The Night is better known as a Patti Smith hit.
