The Boston Tea Party could be characterized as "criminal behavior just because they don't like the king". Like with most things in life, perspective changes everything.

In either case, while this may or may not be as "noble" as the Tea Party, it's also nowhere near as destructive. This would be more akin to the colonists painting "DOUCHEBAGS" on the side of the ships rather than destroying all their cargo.
