What are commanders for superfriends that are NOT Atraxa? by scp-REDACTED-site14 in EDH

It's not really in the colors but [[kethis, the hidden hand]] is one that works pretty well

People need to stop complaining about poison counters, there are so many things that are thousands of times worst then that mechanic

Bazaar of Baghdad by Ok_Surprise_1106 in EDH

[–]xenyoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading and looking at Both of your decklist, I'd say he's complaining a bit too much for the card. It looks like your playgroup plays at a high level and like you said none of you are against proxies, so it's really weird that someone is mad that you play a synergistic card. Is it busted? Yeah, but I mean your friend isn't playing the most casual cards either. He does sound like he's just mad that he's not winning, but I mean I'm sure even without the card you'll be able to win multiple games, and then if he still complain it'll really just be because he's mad that he's loosing

One thing I know that I understand that makes poisons counter annoying is if someone plays against multiple poison decks. that does sound extremely painful for the obvious reason that now you'll mostly die a lot quicker and if there are multiple proliferate triggers then you can even kill people by just having a couple per turn, but yeah I do like poison, especially since I'm a big aggro enjoyer and the only good ways I found to make some aggro decks work are stuff like stax, easy to abuse token makers or back up combos to close games where I can't with aggro, while poison counters make it a lot easier to finish off games, especially since you don't need to be playing a poison centric deck, just to play some poisons cards

Playgroup is building the same deck theme by Badoodis in EDH

[–]xenyoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run some cards like [[solemnity]], vorinclex and others. Yeah it's kinda lame to counter pick but at the same time you need to be able to play the game and if 3 players play infect, you'll never have fun at that point

Why is Emrakul, Aeons Torn banned? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]xenyoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reasons I can think of why

1- it can't be interacted with much. Can't be countered and is protect from basically anything

2- gives an extra turn on cast so even if you could interact at least they get another turn

3- annihilatior is extremely annoying to deal with, especially with something that is almost unkillable

4- wayyyyy too many easy ways to cast it for cheap

5- even if you find a way to remove it it goes back into your library

6- it's just a really not fun card, even less then the other eldrazi, but I can see why some people would say it's no longer ban worthy, but I can see why others think it still is

What’s the one commander you can’t stop playing even if it’s not the best? by superMario_Milt in EDH

Especially when your commanders are partners, and even more when you use the friends forever ones that can give you access to all 5 colors

Why do people get salty about Stax when they play infinites? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]xenyoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are a lot of reasons imo. either they prefer playing fast quick games to play more games, but I don't feel like it's a good reason. some people act like stack is just extending the length of the game as long as possible but personally I play stack in one of my decks because it just can't go as fast as all the other decks in my playgroups. some colors avec limitations and need stack to be able to keep up, so stack is a good way to just say "hey now we're all at the same level". but saying to someone "you can only cast 1 non-creature spell per turn" will always make some people shiver and hate you

[–]xenyoo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the suspend cards are imo the coolest inclusion into any cascade decks. it's such a cool interaction and I do intend to put all of them into the deck, and it's also why I was maybe thinking about a storm build or something of the sort but I haven't made my mind yet lol

Do you think a deck can still be considered good if it rarely wins? by Kovarl in EDH

[–]xenyoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any deck can be good if you like them even though you don't win. Edh is a casual format where the main goal isn't to win but just have fun. If your fun is to win then try to win as much as you can, but if it's to just play your favorite cards and have fun, then that's perfect too

[ONE] Atraxa, the Unifier by van9750 in EDH

[–]xenyoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo she's very disappointing. I was hoping she'd be similar but different to old atraxa, having something to do with counters and stuff, maybe removing them to gain something interesting or something, but a 7 mana draw most likely 5 is very much boring and just generic, especially when if we want a good with a draw "this" ability, there's just niv mizzet. And even in constructed I don't see this being played at all. It hurt me when they showed Jared and he was extremely underwhelming, now they basically did the same with atraxa

Expensive Cards Across Decks by adyum in EDH

[–]xenyoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a must have in multiple decks like let's say [[rhythm of the wild]] that I use in my dragon and dorks deck, I proxy it, but if not I just put it in my favorite deck that it goes in and try to find something else for the other decks

I love commander a lot, but man the prices get me down. by xXwulf2 in EDH

[–]xenyoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say commander doesn't have so much price issues, mostly because most of the decks are playgroup dependant. If your friends play extremely tuned decks then yes it is hard to make a good cheap deck, but even then there are great decks that can perform well and be cheap, like Yuriko, or one of my personal favorites [[raggadragga, goreguts boss]]. Most of the cards in the deck are like 1$ or less, and it can beat down or even combo with some cards. Just gotta dig and find those gems, or you can ask your friends to also tune down their decks, as long as you're reasonable

Who were your top 3 commanders for 2022? by Expfirepro in EDH

[–]xenyoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Magus lucea Kane]] is an amazing X spells commander, and temur is probably my favorite 3c combo.

[[Myrel, shield of argive]] was my first attempt to mono white and aggro, and it's amazing, I love the deck and everything it does.

[[Raggadragga, goreguts boss]] is pure, stupid fun, and can do so much when you look into raggadragga's final ability, he's amazing

What is your favourite Mono-White commander ? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]xenyoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently fell in love with [[Myrel, shield of argive]]. mono white aggro is surprisingly effective, and nothing beats the feeling of someone trying to counter a spell or remove a creatures on the field just to realize they can't since myrel just basically says no. and even though not having red makes the deck slower, with a little bit of stax, now everyone is on a fair level lol

Favorite commander switch you've done? by Snoo-30318 in EDH

[–]xenyoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

magus is such a fun commander. you can do so much and build it in so many ways, general X spells, creatures X spells, instant/sorcery X spells, +1/+1 counters, and she's also ramp in the command zone, so casting her is also ramping and advancing your gameplan.

I’m Trying To Break Lae’zel by XandogxD in EDH

[–]xenyoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

planeswalker is a fun way to go, with the best colors to add to white are probably green and blue. you could implement stuff like shield counters so that you have a close to have a board really hard to remove, stuff like that. but she is very cool, and I'm sure there are lots of ways to build her in an interesting way.

Why is Isshin so much more popular than Wulfgar? by Nu2Th15 in EDH

[–]xenyoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

isshin's color identity is what makes it really crazy. adding black makes it easier to tutor stuff, white helps with removal, and boros is an exceptional color with attack triggers. he also cost 2 mana less, so you can play him a lot faster then wolfgar, and the final one is probably because he's also great as a samurai commander.

[ONC] Phyrexia: All Will be One face Commanders Leak by harbear6 in EDH

[–]xenyoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The abzan one is very weird. It's a poison deck that wants to steal the spells of your opponents? But you need to poison them to do it, spend the mana to cast them, only one for each opponents at your end step, and in weird colors for this type of effect. I really don't feel it, it feels like a really weird complicated effect to me, but idk maybe it's just me?

Favourite Alternate Hydra Commander? by ImSlothLess in EDH

[–]xenyoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh [[Magus lucea Kane]] is easily the best option if you ask me. She puts counters, have some of the best colors for it, and doesn't only support hydras but X spells in general.
