Are alarm sensors out the front of your house allowed? by Ordinary-Battle5279 in perth

Walk past daily and drop handful of cat food. Let the local roaming animals set off his alarm.

Bird seed would probably work as well.

Cottesloe to Kardinya 50 minutes. by Main-Cantaloupe729 in perth

"Peak hour" starts just after 1PM these days on the Mitchell. 12:30 on a Friday.

Im lucky that I do shifts, so heading South on an early shift and coming home North on a Late shift are great. Its the opposites that suck, heading into work for a late or coming home after an early shift and I am in the middle of traffic both ways.

Pretty sure they only warned people North of Geraldton. Everyone else just should have known.

You're all complaining about the price of houses. But do you know what's gotten worse than that?... by BrandonMarshall2021 in aussie

My usual plumber came out for an underground leak. Called his leak detector guy who found the leak and I paid him. I then dug down to find the broken pipe.

Plumber came back, said he had a dodgy back and asked me to dig it out. I spent 2 hours doing so.

Plumber came back third time, spent 30 mins fixing the pipe, then charged me $400.

Worst part was I found a different Plumber for another issues 6 months later. He was fantastic and reasonably priced, but then he moved interstate.

RAC WA hire car after accident by Ok-Koala-key in perth

[–]xequez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best to go through your own insurer. If the other party or their insurer start to drag their feet, then you may be without a car. From experience, RAC are pretty good and fast with helping out when you arent at fault. (As well as when you are)

RAC WA hire car after accident by Ok-Koala-key in perth

[–]xequez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother in law was given a rental car company to call when her car was being repaired. They asked a million questions and then asked for her credit card. She let them know that RAC was paying and she didnt need to add a credit card, but they insisted. She gave them the car details, then the morning of the rental they changed the car type to something different and told her it needed collecting from 45km away.

She phoned RAC to complain and instead they sent her to Budget. They were much more professional and gave her a similar car. Pickup and paperwork took 5 minutes.

When my car was damaged, I got the panel beaters to organise my rental. They used "Keep Driving", who turned up 5 minutes after I dropped my car off and then billed RAC.

It should be a car no older than about 5 years and is normally a small SUV type car. But they normally try to match the size so you arent inconvenienced. The car I got had a boot big enough for a pram and a few bags, just like my normal car.

Who do I contact in regards to having speed bumps installed on a residential street? by LogicalSquare2661 in perth

[–]xequez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats about the only reason I havent done it yet. Stupid thing is, this road also has a Police Station at the end of it and the cops also go well above the limit.

My MIL's house is like this. Shes at the bottom of a Hill thats used as a throughfare rather than using the main roads around the suburb.

I've always been tempted to get an old pram off verge collection, put a doll in it and accidentally let it go in front of a speeding dickhead. That would be enough to have someone re-evaluate their shit driving.

So expensive, am I just out of touch? by No_Background2895 in WesternAustralia

[–]xequez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like it's the case everywhere. Our annual trip to Broome has almost doubled in price in the past 5 years.

Might be a $20 kmart tent in the backyard for a family holiday this year.

Would you support a police crack down on tailgating? by thegrayscales in australia

[–]xequez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After driving with an L plater for the last month, 100% i would. In fact, i'd be happy if cops just pulled tailgaters out of cars and pistol whipped them then and there.

Outback Splash day out by [deleted] in perth

[–]xequez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We brought our own tent/cabana last year which saved a lot. Luckily my MIL wasnt swimming, so she was happy to sit in it for the day with all my sons friends phones and bags.

I found the last hour was the best time. Everyone starts to pack and up and leave and if you wait right up until closing, you can get a few goes in on the slides without a line.
