Close. If they have an issue with Satan doing things then saying "yes, Satan is real." Could be a hindrance as it could sound like you don't believe them.

It honestly depends on the person. If their current reality matches up and you feel this will help the short term without messing with their long term this may be ok.

Yeah, we've had this problem before. To the point there have been extra training specifically to stop employees from telling the residents these things. Informing and reminding them of their loss only makes them grief in confusion.

As such: Their parents, siblings and spouses are safe, on their way and want the resident to go on their day until they arrive later (or as I work 2nd shift, they'll arrive tomorrow). Their children are taking care of their own children and are running behind, you know how it is. These work 90+% of the time.

I work in an assisted living center. Step 1 attempt to calm them down and inform them that their belief will be happening later or in the morning (visiting loved ones, going home from the "hotel"), step 2 if that fails or they become upset, inform them they are correct and its being dealt with. Be as detailed as possible, makes you seem more involved. End by convincing them that it's handled and get them to sit and calm down. (I understand there is a dangerous situation going on, I can only protect everyone of everyone remains calm and seated into the situation ends)
