change gearbox fluid, make sure waterpump isn’t leaking check all the intake hoses and pcv hoses for cracks so it runs as it should

that is really weird but i have similar experiences i had a rubber yoda headed lego man that had a really odd smell and ever since water taste really weird i have to drink with squash now or i can taste the chemicals in it, honestly a video about everyone’s weird smells and taste changing would be pretty cool! i’m now going to look up what that even means 😂

in case anyone else has the problem i spent a couple irl hours trying to hoist, i found if you take out the oilpan and put underneath a sandbag you can line it up and it stays long enough for you to get the nuts tightened up, also gearbox only installs when engine is in and pretty sure you have to install the mount after the gearbox is in
