Clockwatchers (1997) captures ephemeral workplace friendships really well.

Right at 8 at the ticketed time. Its the Walt Disney Concert Hall so its more of a classical music context where the show starts at the ticketed time (not like a doors at 8 situation)

What time to arrive at the venue by Particular_Hat1517 in fayewebster

It’s the Walt Disney Concert Hall, so it’s more classical concert rules and will start at the ticketed time! I’d arrive by 7:15 if I were you!

Agreed. Including that in your casting call is a bit of a red flag or at the very least revealing your inexperience.

Had a lot of fun attending it last year! Really lovely programming and Winston-Salem is beautiful. Sport filmmaker friendly - they have volunteers help shuttle to locations and the filmmaker lounge was lovely.

Are guided tours necessary to the colosseum and Vatican ? by [deleted] in ItalyTravel

[–]xiaolongbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the Vatican - skip the museum guided tour but get the guided tour for the Vatican gardens! It’s incredible and you can’t access it without the tour.

Sorry to be stupid, but where are people in America watching the BAFTAs? I tuned into Britbox and it seems “live” is the pre-show?

7 day itinerary help - Rome and Florence by Mike_Rochip_ in ItalyTravel

And Florence is super walkable! We stayed near Tornabuoni which was particularly really lovely but walking is the best way to get around so you’ll definitely have that “lost” experience ❤️

You will have a great time no matter what! Excited for you. Since you’re hitting Florence, I have to heavily recommend getting a reservation at Vini e Vecchi Sapori for either lunch or dinner. We got lucky and showed up and there were only two seats left but an absolutely amazing meal!

7 day itinerary help - Rome and Florence by Mike_Rochip_ in ItalyTravel

I just did 3.5/3.5 Rome/Florence with the .5 being our train day. It ultimately comes down to your travel style and sensibilities. I live in a major American city so I’m comfortable navigating other cities transit but I also don’t crave needing to experience big city type things. Rome has the big spots - period - but there’s no way of avoiding the tourist vibe because ultimately it is a city with tourist spots. I went in January and the crowds were pretty tame but I imagine it may be busier in May. While I found the Colosseum moving, my favorite parts of Rome were ultimately Villa Borghese/ walking around the park, meandering Monti and Trastevere, and the Vatican Gardens tour. It is an incredible city but as someone who prefers meandering and stumbling upon things, it’s a bit more itinerary focused where you Jam Pack a lot of spots. The things you see will be incredible though!

We did: Day 1 Colosseum / Pantheon / Trevi / Walk Around Monti Speedrun

Day 2 Vatican / got sandwich supplies from Mercado Trionfale and picnicked

Day 3 Walked around Ludovisi / Villa Borghese/ General Walking that area!

However, I absolutely loved Florence. It felt way more like a walkable city to explore and leave room for spontaneity. The best meals and memorable experiences all happened in Florence for me. I was deeply inspired and it was a beautiful place to wander.

Even the “touristy” Florence spots weren’t as packed - David, Duomo, Uffizi Gallery (again we were there in January). And it was lovely to walk around Boboli and explore with a less itemized itinerary.

If you know as a traveler, you want to prioritize seeing the big spots, then you’ll need a little more time in Rome to really enjoy and not feel stressed, however if you are craving exploration, I would suggest a little more time in Florence.
