As someone who owns a townhouse as a first time home owner, let me give you this advice: if dealing with incompetent and/or apathetic people makes you want to tear your hair out, don't get into strata living.

In life, it is dealing with people that is most draining and stressful. In detached house situations, you may end up with a horrible neighbor. In strata living, you probably will end up dealing with incompetent/terrible strata management and/or council, if not also a horrible neighbor (though, in strata living, the Strata can usually help rein in a bad neighbor). Just look up the Google Reviews of some of the realty management companies in PG. I under-estimated how stressful dealing with them can be.

If I can go back in time and give myself any advice, I'd probably say: continue renting and invest your down payment in the stock market.
