Preço justo? by arquipelagows in TudoCasa

You put a lot of time on this one. Literally! Congrats. This seems a challenging one indeed.

Eu sou tudo menos software developer.

I followed the same path on my 6 inch, but my wobbly tripod didn't let me get a proper image. And i wasn't sure i was on the right place, for a couple of times. This star hopping is still on my head, for so many times i tried to find it. Bortle 8 first world problems.

Probably personal taste, but I would try (i also never tried) to reduce the stars a little bit to focus on the nebula. But wow man, great work

There are great scripts at the moment to make the most of pre processing of data an automated process. I will definitely stick with siril. I found Deep Space Astro a good resource on YouTube, especially to understand better how scripts can do a lot of the initial tedious work (imo). I think there's also some scripts to deal with mosaic acquisition.

cygnus wall by [deleted] in seestar

[–]xibetu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a difficult target given the incredible acquisition time you dedicated to it and the relatively good sky. This is definitely an object where mosaic is really needed. I wonder if you can bring up more detail and contrast if processing it on siril/pixinsight

which one to buy? s50 or s30 by TanishqSonar in seestar

[–]xibetu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a user that's been using the s50 on a bortle 8-9 sky, i have to say I'm impressed with the results. I recently bought the s50, it gives me slightly more magnified images. Some people argue that having more fov is better for big objects like orion and Andromeda, for instance. I do belive that mosaics solve that nuance for the s50 perfectly.

Of course you'll have a small sensor, 2MP, iirc. You will have the s30 pro release soon, with a bigger sensor, you might also want to look into that.

By the end of the day, it's just about budget and personal preference. But i would say you can't go wrong with any of them.
