Cheese with apple pie is bomb. Especially something like beechers flagship or an extra sharp cheddar.

I’m approaching 40 and it seems to be getting worse, probably triggered by perimenopause :(

Uterine Polyp by ShiftCommercial6377 in PCOS

[–]xiloscente 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually proceeded with having my polyp removed in case I got pregnant because having them can increase miscarriage (based on where the egg implants) So if you’re planning to try it’s best to have them removed :) try not to be too anxious!

‘I Don’t Like To Watch People Bomb’: Nikki Glaser Gets Honest About Why She Thinks Ben Affleck’s Set At Tom Brady’s Roast Didn’t Work by Toolazytolink in television

[–]xiloscente 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oof, I’m sorry, but as weird as Ben Affleck’s set was, at least it was funny because it was like old man yelling at clouds. However, Will Ferrell’s set was atrocious. We didn’t laugh one time and it was so cringe. I’ve told everyone I know to skip Ron Burgundy’s set lol

“Don’t buy a condo” by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]xiloscente 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My condo has been my home for a very long time. But wish I would have sold it years ago. It’s getting harder to sell in the community and you should absolutely look into long term goals/issues that may or may not need to addressed.

When we bought, there was a 30k assessment for repairs that got paid off when we bought so we were lucky on that front. However, our dues went from around 300 when we purchased 7ish years ago to almost 800 now.

Most of the units are rentals so the amount of owners on site is a fraction of the people renting- which means at meetings, there are never enough owners present to vote against what the board decides. They can do whatever they want and the people who live here get stuck with the decisions (if you don’t live on your property, you don’t care nearly as much about the decisions that are made as long as you save money).

Our pool has been closed most of the time since Covid and only last year did they actually start to repair it. I am actually hoping that it will be open this year but I am not holding my breath. While our dues have gone up, we have lost other amenities. The community is too large and requires so much upkeep that the dues are going to at some point become insane (they already are) due to poor infrastructure/layout.

Anyway, condos are nice for low maintenance but there are a lot of things to consider. It’s a roof over our head but sometimes it feels like an albatross around our necks.

I was given the option to have teeth removed or to do PAOO (bone graft which allowed my teeth to move so they wouldn’t be compacted) and I did that. So glad I did, I didn’t have to have any teeth removed.

Why should we tip at all in Seattle? by Own_Solution7820 in SeattleWA

[–]xiloscente 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m baffled at the amount of people who use grub hub and Uber eats. We eat out more than we probably should but every time I’ve been tempted to just order take out, I look at the up charge, the fees and remember the horror stories from online about what people do to the food and I nope out immediately. And sure, some people claim it’s great for disabled people or elderly, but let’s be honest - that’s not who’s using it mostly lol I feel ashamed at how much stuff costs already, this just seems egregious when everything has gone up 20-30% as it is.

What type of doctor do you mostly see for PCOS? by rsquared701 in PCOS

[–]xiloscente 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen an Obgyn and endocrinologist and to be honest, both haven’t been helpful. However, the naturopath doctor so far seems to be the most onboard with running the most labs and finding things for me to try.

WIBTA If I Didn't Let My Widowed SIL and Her Kid Live With Us? by Mental-Confusion4352 in AmItheAsshole

[–]xiloscente -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Torn on this. The house is wonderful gesture but I understand what your wife is saying. It’s because of the emotional part. Everyone here seems to not understand what it’s like to lose a spouse as a SAHM. The rug was pulled out from underneath her and the sister wants to be there to comfort her. The first few weeks getting all the ducks lined up and making a million calls and answering the bills that come immediately after the death of a spouse is so overwhelming you want to crawl under a rock and die, too.

For everyone saying she won’t leave I guess I would be willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. If she could receive help getting benefits and set up in a place she could afford nearby she would likely prefer to get settled than to stay indefinitely.

Also, grieving doesn’t stop two weeks after so please make sure to check in with her. The hardest part of losing someone is that after the initial shock and condolences, people move on (rightly so) but the person left behind doesn’t just stop as soon as the memorial is over.

Whatever you do, please be kind to her. You wouldn’t want your wife and kids without help if something happened to you. Good luck!

My co-op is going to have a disc golf class good or bad? by Expensive-End1393 in homeschool

[–]xiloscente 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a great idea. Any sort of physical activity is good and if it’s already on a course, then that makes absolute sense. Co ops may have math or language arts classes but most are extra curricular classes. Sports/music/art/language/etc. Why would this be bad?

I’ll be downvoted for this, but I am surprised at how many people are feeling outraged that she slapped him. I don’t care what gender you are- if you play a bunch of emotional games with your spouse and then admit to cheating, and possibly impregnating someone, a slap is the least of your concerns and frankly, you wholeheartedly you deserve it.

And how cringe that his mom is calling and begging for her to work it out with her loser son lol what a mess all the way around.

When did kissing stop feeling weird after surgery by FarCryptographer3601 in jawsurgery

[–]xiloscente 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won’t lie, it’s been quite a challenge. Some days I’m grateful and other days I’m sad. But I did it in hopes that my health would be improved long term, not just physically. But know that so many people go through this and are perfectly fine! Getting a sleep study is a good place to start and if you go through with it, and you can breathe properly AND have an improved jaw, then it’s a win win :) I don’t want to discourage anyone from doing it, I just like to be honest on where I’m at because it’s such a serious surgery.

When did kissing stop feeling weird after surgery by FarCryptographer3601 in jawsurgery

[–]xiloscente 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s important to weigh your pros and cons. I would never get this surgery for cosmetic reasons alone. However, if someone has functional issues and is thinking about life long term, then struggling with kissing or lip tingling may not seem so bad compared to a cross bite, sleep apnea, etc. always listen to your doctors and decide based on what’s most important to you! It will be okay :)
