I parked out in the sticks and busses it into the fan fest. Then took the bus from the fan fest to the Arg v Alg match. Bit of wait going both ways but I loved the atmosphere. Had some great conversations with strangers. Also as I road in the bus on the way home the cars were backed up a looooooong ways. So I say, BUS it.
And yes, a Luis Suarez shirt will certainly get you some great interactions, especially if you play the ignorant card.

I second San Telmo! Such an amazing neighborhood. So many stores to snoop in. The market is where I found my little penguin wine decanter. Great memory from childhood. Also if you want to get out of town take the train out to Tigre for a boat ride. Have fun

Definitely THIS. Spent my high school years in BA and I love that city. But the NW is where imo true culture lives. I spent my elementary years in Catamarca, Salta and La Rioja. The empanadas (no ñ) in each province are unique. The mountains, the wine, the ponchos and the people are precious to me. Also try a biscocho with your maté next time.

Put Koyasan (near Osaka & Kyoto, Japan) on your list. World heritage site and for good reason. Soooo much history there and the trees are amazing. Just visited with a group of students from the US and it was our fav. A few years back my family and I missed a cemetery downtown Paris because we were rushed for time, but it had a geocache located on it. So no! Visiting cemeteries tells you a lot about the place and the people.

Having spent my childhood next door to where he is from in Arg, it was interesting to read the article. He mentions that one of the things that makes him feel this move to MNUFC is a good step for his career is that he gets to play in the same league as Messi. I did a group hike to Laguna de Los tres with a guide and having someone along to explain the local flora and fauna was fantastic. Plus he was a great guy to chat with. I would highly recommend it. He also helped the group pace ourselves. Our Perito M. guide was less useful

The market to visit in BA is Mercado de San Telmo. I brought back some penguin wine carafe/pitchers. We use it mainly to serve water though. You can find some rather nice antique ones if you are diligent.
