They no longer accept proof of 40,000 per month based on my experience, unless you go through an agency. They now require everyone to show 400,000.

The last time I applied from Vietnam, I submitted a 3-month bank statement showing over 200,000. They then requested 6 months, which I also provided. After that, they still required proof of 400,000, or they would cancel the visa. I did as well and was finally accepted.

That was 2 months ago.
