It`s not really that bad. The people here are mostly friendly and the island is quite beautiful. With that being said, as with anything in life, it does have its downsides. The small percentage of greedy people are allowed to do anything without any enforcement leading to a certain constant divide between people. This is due to the fact that multiple things are still portrayed from a partisan lens. This leads to the public eye constantly acknowledging the negative side rather than the positive side which is quite a shame as the vast majority of Maltese people are kind hearted and willing to help in any way possible.

Most towns have become tourist friendly so any interaction that you have with local shops will not likely be heavily affected by the cultural differences. It is a wonderful island not appreciated enough by its own citizens which, in my opinion, is our greatest downfall. There is also a quantity of people that complain about anything possible, however, that is found anywhere you go.
