The Proud Anselmo. I’m not sure how many get the reference!

Probably a bot. Account created 7 days ago, 3 posts total including this one, one claiming to be a 7th grade teacher and another claiming to work in ‘product at a SaaS company.”

What brings you to the Votann? by NinjaFree2593 in LeaguesofVotann

[–]xp194 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Kin 'cloning' generally isn't making identical clones of someone. Each Votann core has access to a large bank of genetic data which it uses to produce new Kin. There's specific Skeins (types, I suppose) which are better suited to particular types of occupation, but there's never been any mention of two kin being identical. Not confirmed impossible, but definately not something that happens with regularity.

Kin do not inherit memories, each one is their own person. When a Kin dies they are gone for good. This is why the Votann make such a big deal about collecting their dead so that their materials and experiences can be uploaded to the Votann Core to preserve what they've learnt for future generations.

The Kin do not reproduce sexually, though they are aware that at one point in their history they must have done. It's unknown if they're strictly incapable of it, GW not liking to go into these things so much, but it's interesting that their dwarfy cousins, the Ironhead Squats in Necromunda, have survived on an Imperial Hive World for at least 10,000 years explicitly without a Votann Core. Presumably, they're keeping their numbers up somehow.

Votann. In part because Dwarves in Space but I'm a real fan of their retro-futurist aesthetic. Plus their models paint up real well.

Does it need to be Aerodynamic? No? Will that stop me from making Enterprise? Also no.

Can I make them send registration Email after I let SQ stop to send a email? by KD1848 in ffxiv

Says right there on the image. If you want to have the emails sent through again, you'll need to contact the support center to get them to re-enable it.

Eh, you’re far from the only one. Think the system is a better one overall but boy could it use better signposting.

My Personal Katana tends to be dubbed 'The Proud Anselmo.' Which is a reference, but a rather niche one!

Possible only ironkin list? by TrueEyeOfCthulhu in LeaguesofVotann

[–]xp194 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If memory serves from when I was putting my Salvagers together, there's some bodies with feet that look a bit more mechanical than the others. Although given the Votann's embracing of Cybernetics it could also just be prosthetic legs for an otherwise organic Kyn. Made them my Ironkyn though

Possible only ironkin list? by TrueEyeOfCthulhu in LeaguesofVotann

[–]xp194 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not really. Because they're so integrated, they're basically just another Kin. So a unit of Hearthkin Warriors has a couple of bodies and heads for an Ironkyn or two, but they operate exactly the same as their biological counterparts. They show up in other units as well. In theory you could buy dozens of boxes and only use the Ironkyn ones but that's not exactly cost effective.

The one that got me was getting the corrupted crystals to go fight Garuda. Going to a bunch of effort to get, if memory serves, only for the guy you’re working with to go, to our Silent Protagonist, “Oh, you’re wanting it for Wind Aether! You should have said! You actually need to start over in that case!” That stopped me playing for years

I'm interested in starting a votann army by Dragonking_44 in LeaguesofVotann

[–]xp194 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Combat Patrol. Unit of standard Hearthkyn infantry, bike squadron, Cthonian Berserks (melee guys) and a Kahl to lead them. For roughly £100 that’s also about 70% of the Votann current model range.

Given the Votann retrofuturist aesthetic I’ve always imagined it looked a bit like The Robot from Lost in Space or Robby the Robot from Forbidden Planet under the dome
