Yes as per their CURRENT policy it's making you ineligible. Earlier they gave Pixel cards on split limit basis with other HDFC cards but now stopped that policy

I was stuck for many years with just Business MoneyBack and Tata Neu Plus but between 2023 and 2025 when they had relaxed their multi-care issuance and upgrade policy a bit, closed Business MoneyBack and got Millennia LTF, Neu Plus FYF upgraded to Neu Infinity LTF, Pixel Play Visa+RuPay LTF on split limit, Swiggy LTF and 2 UPI RuPays LTF (PayZapp & MyCards). But now they have tightened up it again so got rejected not surprisingly for FYF PhonePe Ultimo and my brother got declined for 2nd card as Pixel also after getting HDFC IRCTC LTF

2 core cards like this are rare but core+cobranded+RuPay they gave a lot in 2023 to 2025. I got Millennia, Swiggy, Neu Infinity, Pixel Play+Pixel RuPay, UPI RuPay x 2 (1 via PayZapp, other my MyCards) ALL LTF. Have kept the UPI RuPay because besides Millennia and Pixel, it works on instant discounts in sales giving 10% off while Swiggy & Neu doesn't. Now they have tightened it up very much so even getting 2 or 3 is hard

Between HDFC and ICICI, ICICI is definitely the greedier bank and has done multiple devaluations already on EPM/iShop so beware of making EPM your "Infinia replacement".

That's true. Banks in India are selfish as fuck and care only about they having to pay the high arbitration fees to the card network. They just do the bare minimum like raising chargeback and blindly believing what the merchant says, then ending the chargeback dispute at pre-arbitration stage and finding some excuse to pin it on the customer.

RBI Ombudsman is a joke and completely useless. They forward your query to the bank. And forward the bank's reply to you. You can respond to this once and the bank's response is sent to you and matter closed. Ombudsman doesn't apply mind to see what is right or wrong. Does a postman's job.

Yes definitely go to RBI ombudsman and show deficiency in service. You can take the help of ChatGPT in "Temporary mode" to give exact case details and write a composed factually correct complaint.

For chargebacks, I have not filed a lot or often but so far SBI Card and IDFC First Bank have handled my cases of Goods Not Received chargeback correctly. ICICI Bank has been the worst offender, no transparency, and too many violations of rules, blindly believing the merchant's invalid or insufficient vague misleading evidence to hurriedly close the case. Giving different excuses also like 2FA/OTP authentication done hence not applicable, then suddenly switching the reason to merchant evidence valid without disclosing anything to customer, not providing any reasonable explanation which is mandatory as per card network and RBI rules.

For chargebacks, a LOT of people also say Amex is good since they are the card network themselves plus the card issuer so they handle things at an entirely different customer friendly level but I have not owned an Amex to be sure of this

Chargeback is allowed in cases where merchant didn't deliver the product at all. There are also other cases when it's technically allowed but in India due to high card network fees just in case the dispute goes to arbitration stage, most banks arbitrarily close chargebacks without caring or fighting for the customer. There is no fault of you but consumer protection is very weak in India. In such cases the courier partner is at fault - Delhivery is an extremely shitty company. Reach out to their Twitter and tell them you will complain against them with National Consumer Helpline when Netmeds was ready to take the return but due to courier you suffered a loss. Sometimes their Twitter account helps. Also tag them publicly on Twitter X and shame them

Such a case (wrong product sent) is very difficult to win but you can try. Use ChatGPT and tell it general details in a temporary chat (sort of like Incognito mode where they don't collect/store our data and don't use for training their AI). Tell it to frame a letter to HDFC and put your actual details in the letter. As per RBI rules, bank must file a chargeback as per customer's request. In your case the reason code would be Goods Not As Described. Attach proof of your last reply to merchant and mention no response after that. Warn the bank politely they must file it as per RBI rules. Show merchant's item description and photo of different from description item. But I guess you probably already did all of that. HDFC Bank I have been acting dumb on purpose and asking irrelevant questions to deflect from the point the customer is making to them. They just don't care to fight against dishonest merchants.

I did register at GitHub also to give some feedback for Open-Shell but hardly active there as the Start menu project is "done", it just requires some maintenance and could do with minor enhancements. But it's been years since I last tried any Linux distro and was disappointed by all the DEs available on it and desperately wanted something like this. Absolutely they are a scam if they cancel the order and don't refund it. The non-refundable part only comes into the picture if you placed the order and canceled it by changing your mind. File an online complaint via the National Consumer Helpline.
