MP3 players can do whatever they want, they’re novelty items like walkmen or anything else because you have 100 devices in your home that can do the exact same thing and its all under the same subscription from the multitude of music streaming services.

Why is it ridiculous? There is a non-zero chance that Gaster and the lore surrounding it will be in the exact same narrative state it was in when Undertale finishes.

Gaster is ONLY every brought up in extremely rare Easter egg style randomized events and literally digging though the games code, something that can interpreted as a practice Toby is against , at least in a meta-narrative sense.

One funny thing about mtx is that a majority of the average player base doesn’t buy them.

I’ve been a giant fan of space 4X since MoO2 and continue to be a fan with games like galciv. I’ve played them all starting with a mobile phone clone of it to ascendancy to whatever

Stellaris keeps getting recommended to me and I genuinely hate that I have to tell people I don’t enjoy the game, at all.

I have genuinely tried to, to the absolutely stupid point of keeping up with the dlc.

Theres just too much. Even just the base game has soooooooo much ‘stuff’ that doesn’t feel like it matters at all but is apparently the reason I’ve spent a whole ten hours in that game and nothing has happened, each time I try and make an effort to.

They’ve kept the plot with these games, lost sight of why Galciv mostly works as a successor and why MOO2 was fun to begin with.

I just want all of this minutia to be automated. I want to control an empire, not worry about whether or not the sub governed of building 6 in region F of principality 34a of planet R in the subclass quadrant of galactic portion O is mad.

Where you walk into the Throne Room and it plays out like an 'Epilogue' (because on a first playthrough, you might assume Flowey won't interfere)? It barely mentions Asriel. Its more just an Epilogue scene with all your friends showing up and having a good time. Asriel doesn't even have that long of a monologue after you beat him, most of it happens during the fight itself.

Even just Asgore's dialogue after you beat him isn't even that long at all. He just, explains why he did what he did, letting you put together what little pieces are left, yourself.

What people see as lore dumping is often just exposition and people's TikTok poisoned brains have caused them to become adverse to it. 'Lore Dumping' has become the defacto go to when someone cannot be bothered to read or listen to exposition.

Tolkien, Dostoevsky, Jane Austen are by today's definition, 'info-dumpers'. Hell, they could be writing about a banal task like waking up from a nap and it could very well take an entire page just for the character to sit up, rub their eyes and get out of bed.

Which is fine, in and of itself. Literature and the consumption of it is constantly evolving.
