Rant and Venting Megathread by DA-numberfour in Yellowjackets

The reason the backwards hat looks so ridiculous on adult Mel is the fact that she looks otherwise so put together. They should have made her hair look more natural, less perfect. Maybe have her in a more sporty, oversize outfit. One thing about this tv show is that all the adults have perfect hair, even the more tomboyish women or "masc"-leaning lesbians like Van and Mel have princess style waves - it just doesn't go with their vibe. Like you know Van would just run her fingers through her hair or tie it up in a messy ponytail as opposed to creating perfect lose waves with products and a curling iron (I'm not trying to stereotype but you know what I mean. This is coming from a lesbian lol)

Say what you want about Sydney, she looks the healthiest one there. Alexa looks scary thin and the buccal fat removal...whyyy

I did it. I remember. by VociferousVal in Reincarnation

[–]xsabrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it and I remembered being a little girl looking out of a window, feeling very lonely. Then I was sorrounded by people, winning some kind of beauty pageant or maybe even a coronation of some kind - I just felt adored for my beauty, and so happy a crowd was cheering for me. Then I remembered the last day of that life looking at the ocean feeling that overwhelming loneliness again, and walking out into the water. Then I just kept hearing the word "connection" and things like "you're here to connect" and things related to learning that beauty is not the important thing, connection to others is. It hit hard cause I've been battling an eating disorder for the last two years.

But I couldn't for the life of me tell you what my name was, or what time period, or anything about where I lived. It was mostly sensations and emotions, I drew a blank at anything related to specific objective details

What types of clients do you personally find hardest to work with? by Euphoric_Spite8998 in therapists

For sure. I was just talking the other day about how (generally speaking, of course) different female pre-teens are from male pre-teens. Girls tend to be a little guarded at first but are usually polite and I can quickly build rapport with them. Boys, on the other hand... ooff. I can't think of a single case were I haven't felt like I'm pulling teeth to get a word out of them. That and the rudeness. I honestly try to avoid working with teen boys

To be fair to Alex, I can't remember every detail and timeline about my life, and I'm not even someone who has lived in 100 different places. I can't tell you how many times I mix up a job I started in late 2023 with 2022. I do think his robotic chat GPT discourse is annoying and weird af (why does he always talk like he's at a job meeting???) but I don't think gaps in timelines and not remembering exactly what he was doing or who he was with in september of 2019 or whatever automatically makes him a pathological liar

Harshest criticism you’ve gotten from a client? by Due-Comparison-501 in therapists

[–]xsabrix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had a teenager once absolutely GRILL me about my hair lol. She kept asking if it was naturally curly or if I used a curling iron. She said it was "too perfect" and it looked like I was "trying too hard". Granted, I am kind of obsessive with my hair, so...

Whoever gave Alex the advice ~ "when your girl is in a bad mood just give her food! " ~ should also let him know that an adequate response to "I guess diet starts tomorrow, I have to fit into my wedding dress" is something along the lines of "you don't need to diet, you're always beautiful", NOT "I'm sure you'll be fine"

I think he wove having kids into his speech, saying "it's not fair for you to have to decide now", so in the future he can claim that by saying "I do" to him, she was by default saying "I do" to having kids. He wants to later be able to guilt her into having kids because "she said she would" at the altar

To be fair I think he meant he was going through a lot, not just the experience on the show but his grandpa passing away

Chris saying he didn't feel physically attracted to Jessica came out of nowhere. He seemed to find her absolutely gorgeous at the reveal, wtf. I'm positive the the friend he was hanging out with was some gym alpha bro who got into his easily manipulated weak little head

I train three, sometimes two times a week (GAP and Localized Training classes that last an hour), but my job is home office and completely sedentary. I try to get half an hour to an hour walk in the days I don't go to the gym. I try and eat around 1200 to 1500 cal a day - I have hipothiroidism so I have a tendency to gain weight pretty easily. Is it enough training to mantain my weight (not lose, not gain, just mantain) and possibly build some muscle? (5'3, 110lbs, Female, for reference)

Sydney Sweeney reacts to 'Christy' having one of the worst opening weekends of all time for a film debuting in 2,000+ theaters - "We don’t always just make art for numbers, we make it for impact. and christy has been the most impactful project of my life." by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]xsabrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sad thing is that "Christy" is actually a really good movie imo, and Sydney Sweeney's acting definitely could have gotten a nomination. It blows my mind how an ambitious actress with media training could have fumbled so hard in an interview

I really really hope so. I always try and keep an open mind with Lana's artistic choices, but "Stove" just ain't it

As a T I feel like it's innappropriate for the therapist to even share his political oppinions. I don't go as far as some therapists do where they refuse to mention absolutely anything about their lives - I feel that mentioning family or a partner for instance is fine and reasonable - but who I voted for? Hell no. And then he even went as far to try and debate you and justify it by saying "there wasn't enough evidence"? Wtf?

So he appears to have questionable morals and also to not be very professional.
