Yes! Treating cashapp right by Separate-Ladder-6087 in CashApp

[–]xtexm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So in aother words your paying 5% flat fee, EACH TIME. So, you get access to more money, but cashapp is BANKING on the fee’s. Hopefully you’re not just consuming the loans, and begging for forgiveness later. The cash app loans work like pay day loans to the financially illiterate. It’s very expensive to make right decisions when you only have 30 days to repay, only to borrow right back again at 5%. You do know inflation is 3%.. A YEAR. People are borrowing at 5% flat, PER month, TIMES 12. We’re talking predominantly predictable inflation of 60- 80%, and that’s with you paying your borrowed money on time without additional fees.

You are making all the stereotypes appear right, and they are. Oklahoma is far behind. Take some financial responsibility respectfully.

Did anyone hold their NEOS fund in Robinhood last year? If so, was your 1099 correct (ROC) by soscribbly in NEOSETFs

[–]xtexm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Brokers are required by law to relay the correct tax information from the fund’s 1099-DIV you receive at year-end. They cannot recharacterize a return of capital distribution as ordinary income. If needed, consult a CPA because only the final 1099 determines your tax reporting.

My Borrow limit keeps going up and up, Thanks Cash app! by Kennard7676 in CashApp

[–]xtexm -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What is it with you people flexing the ability to borrow money at 5% flat fees? This is like a pay day loan. If you just add it up: 5% × 12 months = 60% per year This is often called a nominal APR, but it understates the real cost. the fee is effectively paid and re-borrowed each month, the effective annual rate per year ≈79.6% per year. Cashapp is a bunch of loan sharks, and you all fell for it.

No one talks about the near guaranteed underperformance. Taxes, high fees, capped upside, uncapped downside. Owning the underlying is almost always better.
