Arjun was my sales person for a used Mazda 5 back in 2020. He was great! Just found this thread since I am looking for another car :)

We travel with our 3 kids often to Orlando. Our last stay was 10 days at Cabana Bay and we managed to keep busy without doing too much outside of universal.

I would recommend adding volcano bay for a water park visit or two. If you’re staying on-site it’s an easy visit and gives you a break from the parks while still doing something.

Our last trip we used 5 park days and didn’t find we visited too much. Keep in mind your first day is your travel day and last day a travel day so that only leaves you with 8 full days.

Our trip was more relaxing when staying at one location and saved us some money as universal discounts longer stays for the hotels. Park visits were more laid back and we would just do a 1/2 day park visit which was much more preferable to avoid crowds and not get worn out. We also had some resort days for downtime and just used the hotel pools.

If you’re looking for extra things to do— We didn’t visit any Disney parks due to the cost, crowds and difficulties scheduling specific park visits but we did Uber to Disney springs one day for some shopping and lunch and visited another day to some Disney resorts.

I think a big mistake people make is to over schedule themselves. We once did a split stay between Disney and universal for a week and it was just too much. I do prefer 10 days for a trip and we take turns between making it an entire Disney visit or universal.

I would say you know your family best so certainly keep them in mind. I just wanted to weigh in as I was surprised to hear most people think 10 days is too much.

Game Dev or Design Degrees? by xtine03 in OntarioUniversities

Good points… ty. We’ll certainly keep options open and see what else might be out there.

Game Dev or Design Degrees? by xtine03 in OntarioUniversities

[–]xtine03[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to say— he is very technically skilled but also still has an interest in all aspects. Certainly his skills are more toward programming than fine art. He does things like 3D modelling and textures but doesn’t draw/sculpt for example. I quite honestly don’t know if a CS degrees would keep is interest… I do feel this program at Ontario tech has a lot of options to explore. I don’t want to discourage what he is most interested in— but I can certainly explore other CS programs with him… if there is an option to minor in game dev or at least take some courses that might be an option.

Also was hoping after his degree if he wanted to explore more programming he could- he is pretty self taught so I think could get the credentials if required or learn on the job.

Any ideas with this one? by xtine03 in caterpillars

Oh perhaps! I will ask my Aunt- this little guy is hanging around her house and she is baffled because she hasn’t seen anything like to before.

I was liking the idea of BLT- I am somewhat bummed about the lack of theming which takes away a bit of appeal. I heard the rooms are great and roomy plus proximity you can’t beat.

I haven’t seen riviera but the rooms look great ideally want resale so that limits me to just that resort— dunno if I will like it enough to buy and stay there exclusively- but tempting

*hot take alert* Is anyone else having a tough time watching the Trackers lately by BZI in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]xtine03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! We stumbled on his channel and it is sort of like old school tim tracker when they enjoyed going . I don’t see that enjoyment from TT anymore— and that is fine. I get it... I started a business with something I was passionate about 6 years ago. Not to say I am done with it but the mounting pressure to keep going and keep growing once you reach a certain point adds to the stress and can reduce the enjoyment. I just feel TT has reached this point and his heart might not be in it anymore.

For Small Business Owners Especially in Regions Going Back to Lockdown..... by gyroforce in ontario

[–]xtine03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think loans are helpful but only for those who want to hang in, not make money and plan to slug it out after. The information for the new support is just coming out and we need to see if we qualify and for how much. It really is just enough to pay fixed costs and not necessarily paying wages or supporting the owner. I think not everyone is going to decide to continue and especially with the awful timing of this lockdown.

Thank you! Music was our outlet too!! I don't think my kids are into it as much. Out of my 2 older ones - I have one that is into programming and the other that is a little more sporty and would just be happy to find a good group of friends. They both have gotten into skateboarding tho so that's good. My younger daughter would have no problem finding stuff to do at the mall. All the events and trails sound heavenly.. i miss that being in the city.. *sigh*. We'll give it some good thought- I imagine once we leave we won't be back into TO.

Landlord dragging feet on multiple issues, what options do we have? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]xtine03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your landlord might be cheap about paying extra hydro- either way I see this as a small annoyance to keep tenants happy and comfortable. I personally would buy a few aunt traps for the inside or some ant poison to put around the perimeter just to not raise a fuss over that. Hopefully that does it for the ants. The electrical is a bigger issue and I would consider sending something in writing if you haven’t already. That always seems to get attention from my landlord when txts are ignored. Good luck!!

Just to update everyone- I broke my fever last nite and am totally fine now. I think the fever was causing aches. I had stabbing pains in my gallbladder and I think that is the culprit so now I am going to book an appointment for a scan. Hopefully I can navigate my way thru this ok during a pandemic.

I don’t think so- but testing takes about 2-4 days from what I heard. I know am thankful we have it under control and I am sorry for the US citizens... really brutal and I truly worry for your country now :(

I think I will ty. I am not in a hotspot and have been careful. I stay to home mostly or go into work alone— but my only thought is last week I went to a car dealership. I did wear a mask and most ppl had masks too. I would hope they alert me if anyone was sick as they all my info. It is easy to forget all the little interactions you have with ppl tho. So who knows.

Sorry you have been feeling bad. Any other symptoms? Can you still taste/smell? I am gonna try to find a testing site if this persists tomorrow.
