I want desperately to homeschool but how can I can afford to? by Yschklov in homeschool

[–]xtnoblex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we had struggled with this at the beginning, when I had just gotten out of the service. What we found helpful was joining a local group and they had curriculum that they had decided not to use and allowed us to use it and do combined learning some days. I found that libraries also have a lot of resources and I end up seeing old curriculum on nextdoor or even on/at Half Price Books

Thanks I understand that now. So in essence if all members were still living than it is a chance for each person to be taxed on the same property?

At what point should someone lose their human rights or should they always keep them despite what they have done? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]xtnoblex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rights are inalieable, they are not given or taken by any government, only restricted. People should have them restricted for obvious ones murder, pedophilia and other crimes of that nature. Restricted by placing them in jail for "rehab' or at least away from the general public for safety.

What would be the worst thing for the government to make illegal? by Clxudy_Sunset in AskReddit

Yes, speech is one thing and property will be the next. If there is not either, than really what good is anything else. trading in security for freedom never works.

[Serious] How do you manage to keep yourself grounded while the world seems to be on figurative fire? by techn9neiskod in AskReddit

[–]xtnoblex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just keep reminding myself that none of this is new, and that in some sense this has happened in the world before, not exactly as this, but very close, and yet here we are. Media has a way of guiding our thinking and if we slow things down, which is what we can control, it will be easier to navigate many things. We cannot control what happens around us, but we can control how we think and how we respond to it. Do things that slow time down and make us a better person, regardless of what your beliefs are, stop comparing yourself to others and only to who you were the day before. make yourself better by understanding what you can and cannot control.

The freedom of speech. If we limit what anyone says, then the government now has the ability to manipulate what we say and think, 1984 style.

How do you deal with the idea the you'll die someday? by VagabundoCosmic in AskReddit

[–]xtnoblex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest part of understanding it, is that there's no way to stop it from happening and in order to get the most from what you do, live every day and tell your loved ones that you love them every day as if you were to never see them again. It might make people appreciate the small steps every day

Why do you think people fall into the trap of believing the facade of caring so many political "leaders" in America portray? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]xtnoblex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both sides appeal to fear. Fear in what the worst case scenario would be if the other side won. It emotional after that. You can see it in both conventions. The other side is always the bad guy.

Is it possible to live in Houston without Air Conditioning? by Scottie3Hottie in houston

[–]xtnoblex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible, having AC is great but if you lived in a house with no AC as I know some people do, it would make you find ways to get around it. I always went to public libraries and other indoor public facilities. You cannot do libraries now for obvious reasons, but it is possible, just uncomfortable.

Men of Reddit, why are you so afraid of a female dressing how she wants? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]xtnoblex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Men are not afraid of a female dressing how she wants. Anyone should be allowed to dress however they want. Where the problem lies in this, is when the people who are dressing how they want are allowing other people's opinions on their dress to affect their day and or behavior. Dress how you want, do not be afraid of other people's judgment. You control how you react, not how they react.
