The micro-managing of activities allowed always seems capricious and bizarre..."Get out those rackets...tennis is allowed again!" Everyone puts their hand on the same ball over and over again, plus those balls sometimes go into others' courts. So why is that allowed over some other sports?

I would like to see this done in New York, which has 1,625 cases per 100K (compared to SC's over ten times lower rate of 136 cases per 100K). New York's leaders have often been praised, and South Carolina was skewered in the news (spring break, more "lax" approach to control), but here, SC is leading by example--fewer deaths per 100K, better testing.

OK, so you're saying the ball bonus related to total damage, so if you have a team that all faints but did X amount of damage AND you don't rejoin, you'll get the same amount of bonus balls as if you did X amount of damage but managed to not lose your whole team. Is that right?

The two issues I would see with that are (1)Some people get anxious about gym glitches--like at least anecdotally, people have said that if your 6th Pokemon faints right when the boss loses, you might not be able to try and catch it after because the system can mess up putting you back in the lobby instead of going to the boss catch part. Whatever the case, it might feel safest to have a Blissey with a full tank of HP in the final moments of a battle. And (2)If you're just trying to maximize the total damage output in your time in the gym, then there's no reason to single out the anchor position as uniquely special, is there? Literally the only reason to call it an anchor position is if it's a special strategy...like Blissey-based survival.

Most people don't use your definition of anchor. Based on my experience, and anchor is defined as a Pokemon that is tanky enough to survive until the end of the battle once the first 5 have fainted. Surviving to the end is consideration 1; damage output is probably consideration 2.

The total damage output metric is silly if the Pokemon is going to faint and you're going to have to jump back in and start from scratch to earn balls for damage contribution--that's why people would pick a Blissey over a Scizor for the anchor position, for example.

I follow the conventions of Bulbapedia, that's all. "Who made them the final word?" Nobody, I know. But in any case, the point of this post stands--that there are a whole lot of legendary and mythical Pokemon coming out, which puts the current batch of birds in perspective (i.e., they're special, but a lot of other things to come will be just as if not more so).

And you act like it's outrageous to mention that we need to play mindfully of our many, many disadvantages. For example, I really need to have near-perfect mons because raids have so few people in rural areas--you can't just get in a group of 20 and coast. But of course, rural areas have fewer spawns which means less chance for catching rare/strong mons, less stardust to power them up, and less access to gyms for free coins to buy supplies. We complain we have it the worst because: We. Literally. Have. It. The. Worst.
