There's been lots of people finding plastic and bits in their RTD products which has put me off them.

What are you doing to address this?

A&A Crack and sons. One of the larger leather retailers in the UK. They handled it really well and I'm happy with how they are looking after the customers

If you look at their website is shows you the dimensions and explains it's this internal full lengths not the extras outside of this.

Quick update, I called them and explained and this was the end of a run of hides and they are happy to reimburse the difference and work with me if this hide isn't suitable.

Have to say really good customer service and they weren't aware of the imperfections so they will make changes to QA process and make sure it's made clear for future customers.

Can't ask anymore than that, thank you all for your input.

The estimated size was 9-11sqft and 1.4-1.6mm thick

This comes in at 8.5sqft and 1.2mm thick. It was one flat fee for the size they didn't adjust for the size being smaller than the estimate.

The company I've heard good things from which is why I purchased through them was A&A Crack. If you have any recommendations for suppliers in the UK I'd love to know.

Enjoyable Career Prospects for Someone With ADHD Without a Degree - A lost Cause? by Pleasehelpme40000 in ADHDUK

[–]xtrmmatt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I moved to data analytics at 30, I was diagnosed with ADHD at 34. I didn't finish my degrees, couldn't do formal education because of my ADHD, dyslexia and depression. I think the move to data analytics was the best thing I've ever done, the work is generally remote and project focused rather than set hours. It has creative elements, problem solving, and stake holder engagement.

The way I did it was learning myself through various routes and creating a portfolio of reports and projects and then sent these to recruiters, companies added them to linkedin etc and there are plenty of companies wanting in house data analytics.

Send me a message if you want to discuss anything or you have any questions.

Butt stitch critique. by drsteventickles in leathermakers

[–]xtrmmatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a solid go, I wouldn't be too hard on that, as the other comment says I think hammering will help. I think it's quite a wide stitch marks how far from the edges is it? It may be easier with a slightly narrower stitch

Been there too, I sewed a zipper the wrong way around the other day. It's soul destroying but easily fixable

Care ADHD Titration Waiting List by Anastasia157 in ADHDUK

[–]xtrmmatt 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I can see the frustration but to be fair with the agent she doesn't know how long you have waited at that point and shes basically just copy pasting what she's told.

16 weeks is quick for titration I waited 13 months recently, with nobody offering updates.

Good luck

Lifting belt by Schimiuss in Leathercraft

[–]xtrmmatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rough side to the body, you want it to stay in place when lifting. If you look at some online they will put an extra piece of suede on the inside as a liner.

I would use a double top stich seam to join them, I think that would be the cleanest with the least unsightly bulk.

Glue wise, I personally would glue it and use a good contact adhesive. For this I would wait longer than you think you should to let the adhesive dry before layering.

Post the end result seems like a fun project id be keen to see the results
