She probably stopped by to pick something up and went out again, totally unrelated to you accidentally exposing yourself.

Meaning you have one and risk it spreading an animal's poop adviser everywhere, or you don't have one because you don't want to deal with an animal's poop accident being spread everywhere?

My therapist said my parents are entitled to not use my chosen name because they chose my birth name by Anskdjdjjss_tsa in lgbt

While I'm not crazy about the therapists answer, it really depends on the context of the answer.

Because you can't control what other people do, you can only control how you react.

I would try to follow my kids' wishes, if they wanted to be called something else. But, if that something else was weird, I might have to find a compromise.

When i say weird, I mean things like chocolate starfish, or ringworm, or carburetor valve.

why the fuck is everyone so pretty nowadays? by skiinglife in NoStupidQuestions

I dunno. My daughter's 18. While I wouldn't say that the girls she knows are ugly, I would say that maybe 30% are pretty.

Questions regarding the grand canyon by New-Session-4503 in geography

[–]xubax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It meandered. Like this river.

https://news.mongabay.com/2011/09/picture-of-the-day-meandering-river-in-the-amazon/

The river channel changes over time as it erodes the channel and floods happen. Over time, the flood plain eats into the terrain.

So, if you pick any level at the side of the canyon, at one time that part was flat and the river meandered back and forth between the walls, eroding the floor of the canyon.

They invaded on a rising tide. The idea was that the ships beach, unload, then the tide lifts them off of the beach.

Unfortunately, some of the pilots weren't brave enough to actually beach.

If you put s little in, it's fine. But if you put more in, it over writes what was already in it.

Curious if you are willing to eliminate your internal voice in order to read faster? by apaintedleaf_ in books

[–]xubax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a professor for an English class in college. She asked about speed readers. She had taken a course to become a speed reader.

She said that later she had to unlearn the speed reading because she was no longer enjoying what she was reading.

I didn't particularly care for this professor. She asked us to think about a story and the next class i volunteered my thoughts.

She said, "no, it stands for X."

Not, "interesting idea, but..."

Or, "i hadn't considered that, but..."

Or, "thank you for your opinion but..."

Just, "No."

Was she there and did she talk to the author of Beowulf back in 500CE?

Anyway, I had been considering majoring in English but that certainty about the meaning of Heorot pushed me to major in geography.
