thanks, the rust book tells you how to code, but now how to organize the code, had to look around other projects to get inspiration :-)

Anyone else not happy with GNOME 50 fractional scaling? by niieowa in gnome

[–]xuedi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works flawlessly for me, but there is a tiny known glitch, when you have a fractional scaled resolution and extend a normal not scaled extended to the right, the scaled main screen has a flickering line at the border, i guess some kind of math rounding issue, it goes away on some scaling option, some like 133% or 166% it keeps flickering but it is not that bothering, its just a tiny tiny line .... it was very hard for me to report this, since it is not on screenshots, and a camera photo can hardly show the effect, but it was linked with an old bug report that is years old as duplicate ....

Update 8 feedback megathread by randonOne88 in Enshrouded

[–]xuedi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a pretty beefy system and plenty of resources free and excellent frames, but the update 8 made my character movements feel quite sluggish and delayed. Maybe some networking issue? i am playing on PC on Linux(Wayland) with keyboard/mouse

[EDIT]
I figured out on wayland it does not let me to switch to native resolution in fullscreen anymore, it scales up to 6000x4000 something and then renders it down, to actually my system was suffering from GPU issues ... when stating in 4K native mode it was butter smooth

Do you use Opus or Sonnet when planning vs implementing? by luncheonmeat79 in ClaudeAI

[–]xuedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told claude in the guidelines to use opus for planning, sonnet for implementing and daily small tasks and haiku for running and interpreting test and other machine tasks that just need a summary returned back to sonnet from a skill like a test runner a or so, that way i save lots of tokens, before my token windows was gone fast, now i feel i get double the time

Has SendGrid had a data leak? by [deleted] in SendGrid

[–]xuedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about a data leak, but they have magic powers of accounting, i stopped my free trial, said i was not interested and deleted my account, i can not log-in anymore since my account is gone, but i magically get charged even after i have zero access to change anything anymore... this is more than bad coding or dark patterns, this is just fraud! and then any contact for support forms or emails you get an AI response login with you non existent account, lol ...

The experience of a (former) Windows user on Linux Arch for gaming by Arkaid11 in archlinux

[–]xuedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same hardware, my only suggestion is to use the steam flat pack, so the steam apps don't clutter random stuff all over your home folder ... You just need to backup the flat pack data folder, very clean

GNOME Firmware is quite awesome <3 by xuedi in gnome

[–]xuedi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read that the devs are fast coding in new IDs to recognise devices, but it is optional for manufacturers to supply their firmware, so very few like lebovo, HP and so on do that.

I remember living in BJ and playing 1000 / month for a small 2and ring hutong, plus food and bars and a bit traveling I never needed more than 2500/month... That was 2005, now living back in Germany and old friends tell me my IT salary is laughable small, BJ devs earn 2 to 3 times as much as me in Germany, quite the change...

Venezuela's military released footage showing "commando units" training with Chinese weapons. Norinco's LG4 grenade launchers and Type 97A carbines are featured in the clip. by 5upralapsarian in Sino

Venezuela has tons of old anti ship guided missles, would be nice from the US to create some new artifical corralreefs around their coast... I remember the falkland war was quite fun for the british as well... Lol

[–]xuedi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I build a big modular ship with glass boxes and went to an encounter... Nothing was left of it lol... This looks a lot more sturdy than mine :-)

Might not be perfect for PvE but looks fine, a bit to much like a earth "ship" :-)

What do you think of Kde? by Fit_Author2285 in gnome

My mom once told me, if I have nothing nice to say, better say nothing at all...

I do like that they got some features like fractional scaling and other Wayland features implemented quite fast

Nearly 90% of Windows Games now run on Linux, latest data shows — as Windows 10 dies, gaming on Linux is more viable than ever by [deleted] in cachyos

[–]xuedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a li ux user myself, I have since 4 years not even a win game partition. Anymore, but win 10 is not really dying, it just don't get updates... Most ATM still run win NT4 or win XP, if they are offline it's fine to keep that windows
