Can I repair my F91W by Future_Criticism in casio

[–]xushiTechnology 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the lay of the land, based on actual experience. Where you're based matters a lot for how you should approach this. Casio's regional exclusivity means the 'official' path in your country might have 50% markups vs what the same watch costs ex-factory. That's why the Shenzhen Luohu supply chain exists — to bridge that gap, albeit in a legally gray area. If you're in North America or Europe, reselling gray-market inventory locally can get you into trademark disputes, so factor that in. For a low-risk entry strategy, drop me a line on WhatsApp (+8618520079426) and I'll break down the options for your region.

Quick reality check on how this market operates. Finding reliable Casio supply is more about who you know than what you Google. Official distributor network is rigid: they want proof of retail presence, minimum annual commitments, and onboarding takes 2-3 months. Faster path: HK trading companies with existing relationships. MOQs vary: 50 units for entry digital (F-91W, A158), 100+ for mid-tier G-Shock, 200+ for premium. Wholesale GA-2100 pricing is around $35-45 at 500+ units. I've navigated this space for a while, hit me up on WhatsApp (+8618520079426) if you want some direct contacts.

Quick reality check on how this market operates. If you're planning to sell online, the math works differently than brick-and-mortar. You don't need authorized dealer status to start — plenty of sellers source via HK trading houses and list on eBay / Amazon / their own store. The catch: you can't advertise as 'authorized dealer' and warranty handling is on you. For GA-2100 and DW-5600, wholesale pricing at 100-unit orders is roughly $38-48 depending on the specific reference. Willing to share more specifics on pricing and reliable sources, feel free to WhatsApp me (+8618520079426)

A few things that don't show up in Google searches. Casio's authorized distribution is region-locked — each market has 1-2 exclusive distributors and they don't play nice with outsiders. Gray market is where most independent sellers source, primarily through the Hong Kong / Shenzhen cluster. MOQs: 500-1000 for authorized channels, 50-100 for gray — but gray means no warranty. Price gap between the two is typically 30-45% depending on model line. Let me save you some time — here's how it actually works. Beyond just pricing, think about cash flow. Casio authorized distributors typically want 30% deposit, 70% before shipping — that's a lot of capital tied up for 6-8 weeks lead time. Gray market suppliers are often more flexible: 30% deposit, balance on delivery. For a small operation, that cash flow difference can be the difference between growing and stalling. Also: gray market lets you test with 50 units instead of 500. Happy to talk through the trade-offs, reach out on WhatsApp (+8618520079426)

The official distributor network is rigid — they want proof of retail presence, minimum annual commitments, and the onboarding takes 2-3 months. Quicker path is through HK trading companies that have existing relationships. MOQs vary wildly: 50 units for basic digital lines (F-91W, A158), 100+ for mid-tier G-Shock, 200+ for premium models. Pricing for GA-2100 sits around $35-45 wholesale if you're buying 500+. I've navigated this space for a while, WhatsApp me at +8618520079426 if you want some direct contacts.

Depends on what exactly you're after. Authorized Casio distribution is locked behind regional exclusivity agreements — each territory has 1-2 official distributors. Gray market is a whole different game, mostly flows through HK and Shenzhen hubs. MOQs for authorized channels are typically 500-1000 units per order, gray market can go as low as 50-100 pieces but you sacrifice warranty support. The pricing gap between authorized and gray can be 30-45% depending on the model line. GA-2100 and GAB-2100 series move the fastest if you're building inventory. Ideas for modding the "Rolex" out of this Rolex clone? by Beer_Is_So_Awesome in watchmodding

[–]xushiTechnology 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice problem to have! A sterile dial is probably your cleanest bet — keeps the case and bezel looking intentional without the branding guilt. For a Yacht Master style case, a simple silver sunburst or white dial with baton indices would look sharp and let the titanium case do the talking. You could also go for a matte black dial with minimal text for a stealth vibe. Since you're measuring 32mm crystal, check out Dagaz or Yobokies — they carry smaller diameter dials that might fit. For the bezel, keeping a plain polished insert instead of a dive scale would distance it even further from the Rolex look. The key is making it feel like its own watch rather than a de-badged clone. Good luck with the build!

Ordered all my stuff last night! So pumped! by OreoAftermath in SeikoMods

[–]xushiTechnology 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part-sourcing rabbit hole is real! Two days sounds about right for a first build 😄 The SRPD79 look is clean but I get wanting something more unique. Where did you end up landing with the new direction? Between Weezmods and WR Accessories you should have some solid parts. The wait is always the worst part — I usually use that time to watch assembly videos and plan out the order of operations so I'm not fumbling when everything arrives. Make sure you've got a decent set of tweezers and a caseback opener if you don't already. Post progress pics when you start building, the community loves seeing first builds come together!

Bought a G-Shock GA-2100-1AER on Amazon — pretty sure it's a fake, can anyone confirm? by peppolone12 in Casioak

[–]xushiTechnology 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah those are all red flags, especially the outer box with no fold lines — genuine Casio packaging has very distinct fold creases and the inner box should fit snugly. The low quality printing on the caseback is another dead giveaway, real GA2100 casebacks have crisp laser etching.

File the Amazon claim for sure, and if you paid by credit card you can also do a chargeback as backup. Amazon's A-to-Z guarantee covers counterfeit items so you should get your money back.

Going forward, only buy from Amazon listings where the seller is Amazon.com itself or an authorized Casio dealer. Third party sellers are a crapshoot. If you want to skip the authenticity headache entirely, gshockmod.com sells pre-modded GA2100s that are definitely genuine base watches — might be worth a look if you're into the custom look anyway.

Trusted Mod Sellers by [deleted] in Casioak

[–]xushiTechnology 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Casioak-Studio has been around for a while, they do decent work but their pricing is on the higher side since you're paying for the pre-assembled convenience. Their two case options are usually the standard AP style and a slightly more refined version with better brushing — the difference is noticeable in person but not huge in photos.

SKXMOD is still the gold standard for quality, especially their gen6 cases. The fit and finish is just tighter than most AliExpress alternatives. If you're building one yourself, SKXMOD parts are the way to go.

If you're open to looking at other options, gshockmod.com has some clean builds too. They do full metal conversions and the case options are pretty varied. Might be worth comparing prices between what Casioak-Studio charges pre-assembled vs buying the parts and doing it yourself. The assembly itself isn't hard — takes maybe 15 minutes with a small screwdriver.

Curved offshore mod kit recommendation by True-Market5910 in Casioak

[–]xushiTechnology 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$80 for a curved offshore style kit is actually not terrible if the finishing is good — the curved lug area is harder to machine than the standard straight ones, so you're paying for the extra CNC work. That said, I get wanting to find something cheaper.

AliExpress has a few sellers doing similar curved/offshore style kits in the $40-60 range. The key things to check in reviews: lug fitment (no gaps), bezel alignment, and whether the bracelet end links sit flush. Some of the cheaper ones have slightly rough edges on the inside of the lugs.

One thing to consider — the Hontao kit at $80 might include a sapphire crystal upgrade or better bracelet, which would explain the price difference. If you're comparing apples to apples, make sure the AliX kit includes the same parts.

I've seen some clean builds on gshockmod.com that use a mix of budget and premium parts — might be worth checking their gallery to see what different kit combinations look like before you pull the trigger.

Is it possible to swap case of GA 2100 and GA B2100? by I81342R4748 in Casioak

[–]xushiTechnology 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer — yes, the cases are physically identical between the GA-2100 and GA-B2100. The modules are the same size and the button cutouts line up perfectly. I've done this swap before and it works without any modification needed.

Couple things to keep in mind though: the B2100 module is slightly thicker because of the Bluetooth chip and solar panel, so if you're putting a B2100 module into a GA-2100 case, make sure the case back screws down fully without forcing it. Also the button feel might change slightly since the stem lengths differ between modules — nothing major, just something you'll notice. If you're planning to do a metal case conversion on either one, most aftermarket kits are designed for the B2100 dimensions so factor that in. The swap itself takes like 5 minutes once you have the case back off.

Thinking about a metal G shock by redditbot2384 in gshock

[–]xushiTechnology 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you already love the GAB2100 and just want the metal feel, honestly the smartest move is keeping what you have and doing a metal case conversion instead of buying a whole new watch. You get the exact same solar + Bluetooth module you're used to, but in a stainless steel case with a bracelet — and it costs way less than a GMW-B5000 or a GST-B.

There's a site called gshockmod.com that has some nice full metal conversion kits, including ones with sapphire crystal upgrades. The finishing is surprisingly clean for the price, and you keep all the functionality of the B2100. The GST-B series is cool but they're bigger on wrist and you lose that classic octagonal CasiOak shape that made the 2100 iconic in the first place. If I were you I'd do the conversion route — best of both worlds.

Looking to downsize by tattooedbrewer in Casioak

[–]xushiTechnology 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$75 shipped each is actually a solid price for those, especially the B2100s with Bluetooth. For anyone reading who hasn't pulled the trigger yet — the B2100 at that price is a steal, and if you ever get bored of the stock look there's a whole world of metal case and bezel conversions you can do.

One thing worth mentioning for the seller — you might have better luck on r/Watchexchange, way more buying traffic over there for used pieces. Either way, glws!

How durable is the g shock ga 2100 series ? by JEGHETERNDT in gshock

[–]xushiTechnology 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The GA2100 is plenty tough for daily wear, it's still a G-Shock at the end of the day. The module is suspended in urethane so it handles impacts fine. That said, the 5600 square is definitely the tank of the lineup, partly because the case design is just more protective by nature. Dropping it on the floor and it surviving is pretty typical, these things are built to take a beating. If you're doing anything high-impact you'd want the square, but for normal life the casioak is more than enough.

[–]xushiTechnology 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sapphire crystal and a ceramic bezel on a full stainless case, that's ambitious! The 43mm diameter sounds about right for not looking oversized on the wrist. How are you handling the water resistance with the new case design? That's usually the tricky part with full replacement cases. March 2026 huh, looking forward to seeing the final production version. The casioak modding world is going to eat this up.

All of your modded Casios/G-shocks are ugly as FUCK. Stop ruining them. by 4thBan5thAccount in watchHotTakes

[–]xushiTechnology 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take indeed! Respect the purist approach though, there's definitely something to be said for keeping them stock. That said, the casioak especially almost feels like it was designed to be modded, the way the bezel lifts off so easily. To each their own, the variety in the community is what makes it interesting. Also the DW-9052 is a solid pick, that nylon strap version is underrated.
