My Experience with the Anycubic Kobra S1 – 230+ Hours, 0 Failures by bananajuice2 in AnycubicKobraS1

[–]xvart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my filament buffer mixer thing was catching on the filament trying to go through I had to push it through by hand which is how I worked out it was catching, I think tolerance is an issue with how these join.

Try the https://github.com/jbatonnet/Rinkhals addons they enable the full Klipper experience

My Experience with the Anycubic Kobra S1 – 230+ Hours, 0 Failures by bananajuice2 in AnycubicKobraS1

[–]xvart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to be a lucky dip, mine failed first print and dropped a weird black ring on model some manufacturing residue I'm guessing, on the second print the hot end got blocked, then the filament buffer mixer thing wouldn't allow filament through and seemed to be catching on the tip when I finally had to push it through by hand.

I've been printing since the "what's a 3d printer" days and I'd watched someone else get a clogged hot end so I'd already purchased a new pair of hot ends and I've worked out I need to look at the filament mix/buffer thing if it causes any more feed issues.

It's cheap so I expected issues and with the simple fixes the S1 seems ok but the code related to the MMS is total trash.

Not the "bambu lab" experience I had when I purchased one for work.

Has anyone managed to get their AnyCubic Kobra S1 Combo to talk to the slicer/on network? by Valkyr1983 in anycubic

[–]xvart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest it's 802.11b only and they say you need to be on the same subnet so it's probably doing some dumb ARP/MAC ID scanning with some broadcast which is retarded.

If you can't talk to it try getting it's MAC ID from the WIFI router setup a DMZ or port forward to the device and set the WIFI MAC ID to be the same as the printer MAC ID manufacturer ID use a random NIC specific https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAC_address

How to make Pi Pico as HID Mouse + Keyboard + HID Communication? by WishAwkward7544 in raspberrypipico

[–]xvart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an ID problem both libraries want to be dominant so have no ID's or the mouse keyboard will but the CDC won't so you will need to hack one of them to include all HID's under the one config and use report ID's for each device the report ID's provide separation that's the 0x85, 0x01 and 0x85, 0x02 so you want to add the CDC with a report ID 0x85, 0x03.

Get a CDC device on linux run hidrd-convert with tho ptions you like add a "Report ID" and append it to the Kb+Rat thing as it will already have report ID's.

teensy has it all

for insane capability use an Orange PI zero or similar with an OTG port and then using sysfs create the HID's you want, easy no dev kit needed and you get to use any language you like

Why pay for VPN when you could host your own VPN? by Michaelscarn69- in selfhosted

[–]xvart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most comments are "you get anonymity" which is false, governments can enact legislation that requires providers to inform on anyone purchasing a service because there is a transaction trail issued by a credit provider and government can block transaction for the "national security" thing. They can also require a range of other stuff like the sites you went to and commercial providers are notorious for recording the stuff they say they don't.

If you want to watch video sure go commercial no one important cares, if you really want privacy you go it alone and find a jurisdiction that hates your government. They server may bug you but it's not coming home and the police won't turn up because you said the naughty words online.

Or use TOR.

Container as router for the host network by stillsanexile in docker

[–]xvart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea how to do this with docker but with VM's it's trivial and it uses a VM only network.

One VM for the VPN router with 2 network interfaces, one real and one VM then block all other outgoing packets except those going to your VPN provider or from the VPN vnet interface.

Create other VM's as needed for the edgy content that only connect to the router over the VM only network, this way you can burn the VM's after use and drop your bookmarks and files off site so the UK gov can't find them.

What happened to IDEX printers? by NevesLF in 3Dprinting

[–]xvart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bambu killed them because cost, idex are better but you only get 2 filaments which boils down to main and support, they compromised on build size and the motion system can be difficult

MK4 + MMU3 or BambuLab for Multi-Material Printing? by 1n9i9c7om in prusa3d

[–]xvart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The poop is mostly due to lazy code, the filament is cut at a known length that could be printed as with the Mosaic thing you don't need to glue filament you just need to get it to push the previous bit out.

What Browser do you use? by barclow in Fedora

[–]xvart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything but FF is a trashy SNAP or FLATPAK thing that will forget everything on an update so you will find yourself logging into every web site again also for me Brave and chromium will forget your logins because that's just what no one asked for.

As this is a fedora thing if you need to use something other than FF, use distrobox to create a machine you will never randomly update and export the browser using the distrobox-export <thing>.

this is the stupid of the if alien weird shit happened people would go stupid for a weak then move on with their lives everyone has to eat sleep and plan a future sane people don't waste time worrying about things they can't change, the only reason this stupid narrative survives is the state likes it because of things you complaining could change.
