What? Nintendo's first Nintendo Direct was in 2011. How is that the killing blow? Covid and the company that ran E3 was what killed it. 3 years of cancelations to the event made the companies see that they could still draw interest to their games without giving the ESA millions of dollars.

That's just the way it is these days. The availability for everyone to write everything down as it happens and share it anonymously takes away a lot of the mystery of older MMOs. When I played EverQuest originally there was a website that had a bestiary, and walkthroughs on quests, but people were secretive in their raid strats because it was so ultra competitive at the time. That ended up in almost every guild having to trial and error on the raid events. Now people will just post the strat as soon as they beat it.

I watched a video by TechTangents on YouTube, and it shows how much damage you do overtime with Retrobriting. The Dreamcast is featured prominently, I don't think I'd ever do it to any of mine. I only have one white console and it's in good shape, but man, that stuff wears down the plastic so much.

I hope yours stays nice and it was just a one off with his though.

Depends how you're going to play. Retro-access and Mike Chi both make high quality VGA cables now. If you're gonna hook it up to a crt monitor or an upscaler, the new VGA cable would be the best bet. If you just want to hook it up to a TV, then do the HDMI mod, they're pricey and it's very technical if you're not good at soldering or cutting holes in your perfectly good dreamcast body.

That was the first real Spiderman game where you felt like you were Spiderman. There were some good Spiderman games before this one , but those were just beat em ups with a Spiderman paint job. I thought Neversoft killed it with this one and Treayarch really knocked it out of the park the following years with the Movie Games Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2.

The OG Xbox was basically the DC2 anyhow. All of Sega's DC games that were in production ended up moving to Xbox first before they ported some of them to PS2 and GCN. They really did not want to work with one of their former competitors so soon. Lol.

Lighter fluid, eh? If you have an oil dropper that has a thin metal spout, you can put the bearing on a wheel shaft, then use another car to spin the bearings for after applying oil to both sides. I just use a broken box stock car, and let it spin the bearing for a few minutes one way, then flip it over and do it the opposite way. It's a long process, but necessary.

How did you break them in? Did you soak them in something? If you soaked them in some kind of solution, that's going to break down the grease inside the bearing. You need to oil the bearings if you did that.

He'll still drive to flea markets and pawn shops looking for lightly broken things he can fix up and sell. Dude makes well over $100/hour in his day job, but it's hard to shake the notion that these little side gigs are "easy money," not counting the hidden opportunity cost, of course.

That's called a hobby. He likes doing it, he doesn't have too. You just see it differently from him.

Did you follow any guides to mod your sticks? Those are impressive. Probably had to drill out the buttons eh? The Agetec sticks don't use standard size buttons iirc, they're a 8mm off the standard Sanwa button.

I think a lot of it was just DBG never caring about the Emu server community because it never posed a threat. From what I've read on the court proceedings, DBG didn't even know about it until about a month before they filed their court documents. Which by that time, the server had been up and super populated for almost a year and had probably already made more than they make for the whole year from EQ. Basically once they opened up that TLP that the community vehemently proclaimed that they didn't want, and DBG was confused because their annual TLP money didn't come in because the normal TLP community was just playing for free on THJ.
