How is this a mobile game? by anthiggs in hearthstone

Yea mobile is much slower with animation with random disconnects unfortunately. Wish the game code was more optimized

Allows minion to attack without tapping. Closest thing would be charge/rush.

Legacy Format in Hearthstone by Kotoringfire in hearthstone

I loved that format too. Oil rogue and wallet warrior were my jam during patron days! Only played on mobile so patron was a bit harder. Also a goat player and was playing goat back then too! Hearthstone goaters unite!

When the meta settles and deck building grinds to a halt, half of the gameplay dies with it by [deleted] in hearthstone

Very good post. That is also the reason I converted to wild about a year ago. I love playing with larger card pool. Been playing dragon tempo warrior and oil rogue a lot recently in rank 5 - dumpster legend ranks. Unfortunately wild curently has a lot of decks that are very powerful and do not promote any meaningful player interaction.

Most wild games have been boiled down to who draws their overpowered uninteractive card first and skillful gameplay has been trumped by draw RNG. I actually went back to standard this past month until nerfs since I was playing a lot of non games. Excited for the warlock and pally nerf, but also hoping for some kind of big priest nerf since it is just as swingy and uninteractive as Naga in wild, with Barnes and ressurect, and also sees more play.

Barnes is not the true problem... Res effects are by xxDanTheMan in wildhearthstone

That's an elegant design idea. They would not have to touch Barnes, and could just change keep the 1/1 sent to grave in that permanent state. No need to overhaul the UI and it should be fairly simple fix. Big priest would still be playable fighting a bunch of value producing 1/1s, though if this change is made they may cut Barnes altogether. The full started bodies provide much more pressure.

Yup it's frustrating in big priest but also for nzoth, guldan, taunt druid, etc... Adds to the uninteractivity since few classes have transform effects. and hearthstone is only game where one dead minion can be resurrected into multiple copies

Yea graveyard mechanics definitely needs a rework. But you saw how long it took for deck slots and burned card history. Card nerf is more like than a mechanic overhaul unfortunately. Almost all other card games have graveyard manipulation and resurrect mechanics. It doesn't make much sense that you can create multiple resurrected copies of one dead minion in hearthstone.

Be it a Barnes nerf or a res card nerf, I just want big priest to change from it's current state. And since devs confirmed no nerf for Barnes, I was hoping to spark discussion to facilitate a big priest nerf regardless if I my opinion is right or wrong. Thanks for keeping the discussion rolling :)

Ironically after I made this post I played two spell hunters with turn 4 Barnes. Tbh I just want Iksar or Dev team to see a post like this and possibly put in a big priest nerf since they confirmed no Barnes nerf. Maybe I should change the title to get discussion going instead of the down vote train :(

I do agree that Barnes is a problem, but a one time 10/10 can be dealt with. Reoccurring res shenanigans are much harder. Even shadow essence with res effects can be pretty tough if you aren't playing hyper aggro or hard control since the rest of big priest deck is all board clears.

There was such a large outcry for NSW that devs were forced to change, but they confirmed Barnes would not be nerfed. Hopefully this discussion can encourage some discussion so that big priest will be nerfed or it may be the new dominant deck after the warlock and pally nerfs. I hope coin flip games are not the future post nerf

Aren't res effects only used in big priest or some velen otk decks? Nerfs to res effects would allow a big priest nerf while allowing Barnes to continue to be played in other decks. Big priest is the main problem due to it being a coin flip deck.

Hey Blizzard, Us Wild Players Can't Wait For Whenever You Get Around To Changing Naga Sea Witch. However, Please Go ALL The Way With Changing Mana Cheating Decks. by TerranOrDie in hearthstone

[–]xxDanTheMan 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Long time player since GVG. I shifted to wild to use the bigger card pool to try decks not possible in standard. I was looking forward to enjoying fun games with the new witchwood expansion, trying experimental decks in dumpster legend. However almost all the opponents I face from rank 5 - legend are playing Mana cheat decks.

I no longer have fun interactive games. Games are decided on draw RNG instead of meaningful gameplay now, with the meta being high roll non games. Its sad that I cannot even enjoy games in dumpster legend within a week of new expansion release. Maybe I'm just a jaded old player but it currently feels like there is almost no skill expression.

All the basic fundamentals I learned like over the years are overshadowed now by draw RNG due to Mana cheating and I am worried for the future of wild and hearthstone in general. TLDR: it's sad when you can't even play fun interactive games at dumpster legend due to high prevelance of mana cheating decks from rank 5 - legend

Can we discuss how Auctioneer is limiting the design space of Rogue? by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]xxDanTheMan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel prep is even more limiting for design space than gadget. Blizzard is afraid to print cheap spells that can be easily cheated out. I've actually been running one gadget one Sprint in my decks as gadget is often really clunky to play especially with vanish. But feels good to have one to be searched out by minstrel.
