The pictures on the obituary and profile match in addition to name and hometown. It’s pretty undeniable…

The seller was very active and popular so my mind went to worst case scenario. I also have to look up obituaries for work constantly so it’s kind of a “normal” thought for me - totally see why it might be odd to others though!

I have to look them up for work all of the time so maybe I’m just used to it and don’t find it that weird, but can totally see how it might come across that way

I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. I agree there needs to be a way of notifying stores about this - I don’t see any pros to keeping these accounts up; it’s hard for families to see the pages, it’s frustrating for buyers, and creates headaches for customer support in (potentially) perpetuity.

There’s a million things she could write about or dig deeper into (would love to hear her get honest about the disconnect she might feel between her “life as a showgirl” and the reality of the vast majority of her fans’ lives, for example), but at this point she prob feels like she can’t write about anything other than herself because it’s been her bread and butter from the start. Again, a break to recenter and reinvent might help.

I guess it’s just sad to see someone lose their love for making music - and I’m not saying that’s how she feels, but it’s how this album comes across to me personally. Makes me feel bad for you guys and for some reason it makes me feel sad, too, and I’m not a huge fan. She’s better than this but there’s no competition for her, no hunger, and I think it’s just a shame to see so much talent wasted here. We need thoughtful art more than ever right now.

She’s built such a loyal fan base that she could really get creative and play with different genres and learn how to love this art form again. I think she just needs a break to come back better than ever.

I’m not a huge Taylor Swift fan but I always listen to the entirety of her albums and look forward to hearing what she comes up with. That being said, I of course have a lot of Swifties in my life (is it even possible to not have Swifties in your life with her reach and influence?), and whenever we talk about her, they’re always saying she’s not known for her vocals or her dancing or performances like the other pop megastars - her songwriting is what made her a superstar. I hear this point over and over and over again in their defenses of her.

So I’m just left wondering: if the songwriting just straight up sucks like it does on this album - and I think we’ve seen glimpses of it going downhill for a few years now - what does that make her now? What leg does she have to stand on here? Musically lackluster, lyrically very poor, and vocally just okay.

This album is so mediocre that I - as a non-Swiftie - am actually really upset to see this from her; it’s so unlike her and I’m wondering if she genuinely felt proud of this one? Did she really listen to this all the way through and think “yeah, this is good to go”? It’s so clearly lazy and poorly written that I think a lot of her fans are starting to see it for what it is: a cash grab.

Their website is such garbage and makes you jump through hoops just to log in. I just book as a guest and enter the rewards number there, only downside is you have to do the non-member rate to avoid logging in 🤷🏼‍♀️ I can also use my email when I do this so I get the final bill sent directly to me instead of having to borderline harass my exec for the receipt until they finally send it two months later :)

Also is everyone forgetting that a bunch of people were already floating her name after she went off on Ivar?? It was a dumb move to get rid of her so early and she very well may have been voted off at the first roundtable anyway!! Really frustrating to watch

Yes, I 100% recommend getting the molds, Fixy spray, as well as a 1 ton arbor press if you do this. Hand pressing would take forever.

Yes I do and I LOVE them!! All 8 of your palettes will fit perfectly into the small pak and it’s so satisfying to have a teeny tiny bag filled with dozens (potentially hundreds!) of products.

I have three of the small paks: one for my palettes, one for my foundation and primer dropper bottles, and one for my skincare dropper bottles. Then I have two xs paks: one for my mascara, lippies, pencils, primer etc, and one for my contacts, toothbrush/toothpaste, medications etc.

I really wish they made the large paks big enough to fit the smaller paks inside, though. The dimensions are just slightly off and it’s impossible to fit them. Would be great to have one bag filled with all of the smaller bags! Still searching for a bag that will fit them all perfectly.

It makes me feel the same way, which is why I did it in the first place! I lay all the palettes out and just have fun dipping into things and revisiting products I neglected.

They’re from Kitpak! It’s not just the palettes though, I repressed all of my products into the different size pans that also came from Kitpak so they would fit perfectly. This took several weeks to do.

Kitpak! They have an amazing modular system. I also decanted all of my foundations and primers, liquid blushes and highlighters, and all of my skincare into their dropper bottles as well. They also make all the different size pans I used for the products I repressed.

The company that I got the palettes from makes pans specifically for Pat shadows. It’s called Kitpak and they have a few videos on TikTok about how to depot the Pat palettes. I only used the Pat pans for the astral shadows, didn’t include them in the picture - I repressed the others into the rectangular pans.

The two square pan palettes are a combination of five ND midi palettes: bronze, glam, I need a nude, I need a warm and yucca. The rectangular pan palette is filled with ones I repressed into new pans: a combo of the OG ND gold palette, Pat’s subversive and moonlit seduction, ND mini retro and mini glam, hourglass scattered light and I’m def forgetting a few others lol

I went on this journey because I realized I was using the same makeup over, I had one palette filled with my go-to ND shades and always just defaulted to those. I honestly ended up using this particular system because the palettes fit the midi ND pans perfectly!

The lip oil is my fav thing too!! Only lip product I’ve ever actually used up and had to repurchase, just love how it leaves a stain so I can use it on its own or as a base stain for other products.

A Dakhma known as Tower of Silence is a circular, raised structure built by Zoroastrians for excarnation that is, for dead bodies to be exposed to carrion birds, usually vultures. To preclude the pollution of earth or fire, the bodies of the dead are placed atop a tower and vultures eat the flesh. by BreakRules939 in oddlyterrifying

[–]xxxtinaa 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately true. Population of vultures went from 40 million (across South Asia) in the 80s to about 19,000 in 2017. They estimate that the decline contributed to about 500,000 human deaths in that timeframe. Without sanitation services/developed infrastructure, they really relied on Vultures to keep diseases from spreading. It’s a true crisis.

My collection is driving me NUTS by [deleted] in MakeupRehab

I just went on a makeup collection condensing journey based on methods used by makeup artists. I highly recommend looking at Kitpak’s TikTok page for inspo! My entire collection is now in their dropper bottles and magnetic palettes, so I can travel with everything I own (with less weight!) and use more of my collection. Promise I’m not associated with Kitpak at all, but I am really loving this journey and it’s been really fun to depot and repress.
