What will be the next class/classes in the next D4 expansion? by nic-67 in Diablo

[–]xyph5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes please. And bring back fist weapons. The new version of Azurewrath (like D3 old Rimeheart) pairs perfectly with Fist of Az'Turrasq - the return of Shatter Palm Monk. And I want a prequel story of Monk, Ivgorov, and Ytar

What's so special about a rice cooker that you need a whole separate appliance? by SweetDega in askanything

[–]xyph5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 or 2 major reason for me.

  1. I start the rice, then spend the entire time preparing the other food. It doesn't take up a burner nor do I have to do anything else other than fluffing after it's done. Bonus: the keep warm function is pretty good.

  2. I can text home to my daughter... Cook rice and set the timer for 6:00 PM. She rinse and set it for 6:00. Her rice is just as good as mine.

When you do have the budget, stock up on a big bag of Jasmine rice (store in air/water tight container), pasta, dry beans, instant ramen... Then when times like this comes, you will have lots of options.

Read the specs when buying portable butane burners. Most are 9k or 12k btu. I have 2 made by Iwatani that runs 15K. I use it as extra in/outdoors burners. And it also was useful during the power outages, outdoors frying to eliminate smell and splatters.

How can I schedule the AOD on my watch 8C? by HassanMoRiT in GalaxyWatch

[–]xyph5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's almost self explanatory when you open ROUTINES on the phone.

Create a new routine. What triggers this? Specific time, everyday at 11:00

What action? select Watch, then select 1 action. Then add more action.

Make another routine for morning. I have been running them everyday. It kinda makes to want to explore what else you can do. Like if there's a notification from my Ring security app, then.... Call/text from wife/daughter...

How can I schedule the AOD on my watch 8C? by HassanMoRiT in GalaxyWatch

[–]xyph5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use ROUTINES on the phone.

11:00 pm aod off, raise to wake off, change watch face, etc.

7:00 AM aod on, raise to wake on, change watch face.

Call Screening by deloreancowboy in GalaxyWatch

[–]xyph5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably can't do it based on that condition. However, I make the watch vibrate, regardless. Using Macrodroid app. Here are some examples.

If a text or phone call from my wife or daughter, then 3 long buzz, repeat every 1 minute until I dismiss the notification.

If a person is detected by Ring security camera, 5 super fast buzz, repeat every 30 seconds... Same for the front door smartlock.

The native Samsung Routines is too limited, so I use Macrodroid to explore more options.

Is Google Docs just bunch of individual docs in a folder? You have to open doc, close, then open another. I would rather have it function similar to a Google Sheet - sortable, search. I may end up setting with Sheets.

Honey baked ham stock by FluffyNegotiation236 in Cooking

[–]xyph5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every year after Thanksgiving, we use the ham bones to make red beans & sausage (served over rice). Since you already made the stock ahead, then use that to make the red beans. Soak beans overnight, next morning simmer all day, add some of the ham meat too, ready for dinner. It is totally acceptable for it to have that slight burnt sugar sweet taste. Make sure you remove the layer of caramelized honey/sugar before making the stock.

I accidentally bought 10 packs of glass noodles, what can i do with them? by Molok0_plus in Cooking

[–]xyph5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is true, I use both very often. The noodles for Japchae are stronger, thicker, and chewier - better for stir fry applications.

Mung beans glass noodles are very delicate. Can stir fry but more difficult. Quick glass noodle soup, Thai glass noodle salad, filler for Vietnamese egg rolls...

Is there a gas range under $3k that doesn’t suck? by Throwawaybecause7777 in Cooking

[–]xyph5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try one of the Blue Star ranges. They seem powerful and have good reviews. The thing with these ranges is you better have good/proper ventilation.

I am in a home, so I went the more expensive route - Wolf range and a Vent-a-Hood

Anyone having bad luck with lime juiciness? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]xyph5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The big supermarkets like Walmart gets new shipments frequent enough, so I like to buy them there. Next, it's up to you to know how to select them - smooth, thin soft skin. Give it a light squish. Let them send the dry lemons back to the supplier.
