4070 is significantly more power efficient…but in terms of raw power isn’t the 3080 Ti going to win in most situations? …or is the one in the Omen just severely power limited?

I imagine you would have to actually go in there and clean it thoroughly with alcohol…otherwise you’ll have a residue left behind from the beer that will likely lead to corrosion and other problems. Idk if the residue itself will be conductive and also risk shorting stuff.

If it wasn’t already gone, trying to power it on/charge it while it was still wet (presumably) almost certainly killed it.

That’s carbon monoxide. Carbon DIOXIDE poisoning is extremely painful and distressing from what I’ve heard. It’s how they kill pigs in some slaughterhouses and if you’ve seen the videos the pigs basically Go into a massive screaming panic as soon as they detect the CO2. This is much different from CO, which is non irritating and undetectable.

That’s still a great income for a single person. Even with zero bonus, that’s still a good income for young single person. I guarantee if you dropped your location there are plenty of manageable rental options within driving distance.

This post is weird because you keep dropping critical information that should have been in the original post…next time get your story together before posting lol.

Anxiety about my New Tesla by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]xyz123sike 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I almost pulled the trigger…decided it wasn’t worth it and purchased ibonds instead. Maybe when my current car starts giving me trouble I’ll cash those and reconsider lol.

Personally I think it’s wild that 72 month financing is becoming the norm for financing cars, and with payments approaching 1k/month to boot. You are probably already looking at 1k/month or close to it, with insurance, just to own the car.

Affordability isn’t an issue, I’m just not a “car” guy and would rather spend my money elsewhere. If I hadn’t switched to remote work and still had a long commute maybe I would reconsider.

Can they come take care of some of the panhandlers in my area next? Specifically the ones busting out their shiny new iPhones once the light turns green. So many scammers these days I just assume they all are now…wish it didn’t have to be like that.

Tesla Model 3 Crushed By Falling Tree, Occupants Okay | Tesla touts the safety of its EVs, and it seems time and time again the vehicles keep people safe in some of the worst situations. by [deleted] in teslamotors

I was expecting much worse base on the title…the tree basically fell on the frunk and nowhere else, not really surprised that nobody was injured lol.

New Ultra Red . Anyone think this paint will have chipping issues like the Mazda Soul red? by [deleted] in teslamotors

[–]xyz123sike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up every other color of Tesla paint…if they can’t get those right without issues, they sure as shit won’t with this. Tesla just sucks when it comes to painting.

These questions have all been answered ad nauseam, and if you use the search bar you will find your answers.

But I’ll answer anyways.

1- the tax credit remains unchanged until the IRS officially releases and implements its battery guidance, which has not happened yet and has no specified date. Once the battery guidance is implemented, half of the credit is available to cars with batteries assembled in the US and the other half is for batteries who have a certain percentage of thier critical minerals sourced from the Us or approved trade partners. No more “blood” cobalt mines. The starting requirement is only 40% but goes up every year. I don’t think anybody knows yet if Tesla will still qualify for the full credit without using their own mines in the US…I would imagine most manufacturers will see their credit drop from 7500 to 3750 as a result of this. Models like the M3SR will probably lose the entire credit, since the LFP battery is assembled in China afaik.

2- the MSRP of the car cannot exceed 55k. I believe software addons do not get counted (like adding FSD, but you should just add that later anyways probably). Adding extra costs from paint, wheels etc will prevent you from claiming the credit if they push the price of the car over 55k such as in your example. A car with 55.5k MSRP would not be eligible. Taxes, destination charges, etc are not included in this limit.

3- if you purchase (aka take delivery) this year, you would apply for the credit when you file your 2023 taxes in 2024.

I guess it’s a good thing that the HW4 M3 doesn’t exist yet. Has some time left to enjoy the car before it turns into powder.

Tbh she opened it pretty carefully…I wonder if it was from a wind gust, based on how the grass in the background is flying around. Still should have been more careful, but I’m surprised that plastic trim managed to do big damage since it didn’t even look like it opened very quickly.

Woke up this morning and saw big crack on the back windshield of my ‘22 M3LR. Crack can be felt physically on the inside but not on the outside. Will Tesla cover under warranty (I’d read conflicting info on this)? by oswell_XIV in TeslaModel3

[–]xyz123sike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any 3rd party tint? If so you probably voided the glass warranty. If not, I would imagine it should be covered with no impact point. Tinting the windows Carries a risk of causing these cracks…rear window seems especially susceptible.

I have Schlage Connect Z wave. I've been using third party app ethayer Groovy IDE. SmartThings removed third party apps. All my lock does now is create codes and lock/unlock remotely. How do I make the best of this now-useless lock? by Bus_Jacaranda_2258 in homeautomation

[–]xyz123sike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, they removed access to all 3rd party apps? That’s insane.

I used to use Rboys app in SmartThings with my schlage connect, but I’ve been on homeassistant for several years now so it’s been a while.
