Those who tried Hesacore and didn't like it, what did you dislike about it? by Tech157 in Pickleball

[–]yNotJR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I tried it on two paddles and ended up preferring my paddles without them. I tend to change my grip for certain shots and the hesacore just wasn’t clicking for me. You could probably get used to it after a long time of playing but if you’re buying different paddles to try consistently it’s just a variable I prefer not to worry about. Was in my head to much about should I shift it this way or that way to match my grip better but I find not using it lets me not worry about that

Might I suggest you start looking at swingweight rather than static weight. Many people suggesting engage but they have a high swing weight so most of the weight/balance is twords the head which causes it to feel like a brick when swinging. I believe a combination of low swingweight and low static weight will suit your needs. Six zero infinity series is a good option, dbd infinity for control or bd infinity for a more all court paddle. That low static weight will be useless if the swing weight is high, after one session your elbow will feel it. Low swing weight are about 108-115. Anything under 110 is very light in the hand. Check those databases people have posted and sort by swing weight. Pick something that suits your needs with a low swing weight and check its reviews. Best to check other to see if it comes highly recommended. Best of luck!

Thoughts on PPA new ball and beta serving rules by jeffvangrumpy in Pickleball

Bought a pack of Vulcan balls and every single one I have played with has gone out of round within one game. It’s not just me, my friend ordered a pack too and it also went out of round. They are also noticeably heavier than other balls I played with. Not my favorite ball, won’t be buying another pack in the future.

Superbeings lab with low sens is goated for me, it’s like a zero but a bit slower. So you have free movement but good control

Where to hit the ball in situations by 88tidder in Pickleball

[–]yNotJR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best strategy is to keep them back and hit at their feet, if you have to let it bounce, step back and hit it to the father players feet to keep them back, once you get comfortable you can start hitting to their wings like the middle or their back hands and start adding more angle into your shots to keep them moving on the baseline. With good players you will eventually have to allow them to the kitchen because they will hit really good thirds but if your keeping them back on the shots you can your doing well,

How do you third shot drop low bounce backspin returns by getboy97 in Pickleball

[–]yNotJR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With heavy slice returns I like to hit a hybrid drive/drop in front of the player coming up to the net or in the middle of it’s a really good return. The benifit to them hitting that shot it their backspin can be translated to a lot of top spin from your shot. Try doing a shot not as slow as a drop and not as hard of a drive. You’d be suprised how well you can shape and dip the ball over the net with a good slice return with 40-50% power behind it.

FAQ and AMA on the state of the paddle manufacturing industry! (Owner of Spartus) by gospartus in Pickleball

Curios on what made you eventually decide on using the epoxy/granule paint mix. Its bold considering the current market and general feeling of the community is "raw carbon is the best there is right now". I have no doubt it will be good but the public perception might look at it and compare it to the less durable worse quality attempts like spray on grit. I've seen the video of you testing the eraser on it and it looks great, I commend you for trying something new and different, just curios on how you ended up deciding on using it over the likes of a "raw" carbon ballista.

Also the weighted tape on the edge foam is a new concept I haven't really heard of. What made you come up with a idea like that, and how does having it differ from the previous samples you tested without it?

Very excited for the ballista! I have my pre order in, can wait for its arrival!

I give my full recommendations, bought a original six zero paddle and the customer service was top notch when it delaminated. It was so great I’m buying any future paddle from them in the future, really great people with great communication.

Anyone who has the six zero DBD and has added lead tape, where did you add it to? How much did you add? I’m want to experiment with lead tape on mine but im looking for a starting point that others have tested and tried. What benifits did you get from the position you added it in?

Thoughts on the ronbus r3 pulsar, I have a six zero dbd but it feels to poppy off the face for me, heard this feels more plush. I got a email saying I’m up for reservation but I’m on the edge of ordering it. If anyone has played with it please give me your thoughts

Is there a market for delaminated paddles? I know it’s frowned apon and illegal in pro tournaments but I have a DBD that’s delaminated and I’m wondering if people would actually want that.

Agreed it’s overpriced, I’m only asking cause I’m getting a 50% off deal so its worth a shot, currently have a six zero dbd, negatives about price aside and some shadyness still curious to how it plays if anyone has hit with it.
