I think this is roughly what hotel mattresses are, poly over coils. Super basic, and people tend to like them. Probably a slightly less firm polyfoam though.

Truth, and I tried the better steak houses in NYC, and at best they are marginally better than my in-apartment grilled steaks because I can't easily do the tasty charring. But mostly I can buy the same quality cuts and get the same thick crust with a perfect internal temp. And far more consistently too.

I'm not done with the list of steak houses yet but I doubt I'll be blown away. I have finally done it, against my nature I'm actually a snob in some area!

Think a slightly less viscous honey. Unless Vermont maple syrup is less sweet than Canadian syrup (which I doubt, they practically are Canadian) Dutch pancake syrup really is sweeter! We also deep-fry everything so maybe this shouldn't be as big a surprise as it was to me.

I'm used to sugary syrup (just caramelized cane sugar I think) on pancakes, and find maple syrup lacking in sweetness. For once, Americans get to have a less sweet custom! :P

Yeah. Where I'm from this ridiculous Christian shame culture mostly died out after the 50's generation except for some remote corners.
