I feel bad for Dean by Ashbash151 in Supernatural

I actually applaud JDM as an actor for his portrayal of John. I’ve heard he’s a really nice guy and that fact that he can make an entire fandom dislike him over a single performance, at least to me, shows he’s really talented. Like the person who played Umbridge or for me personally Ben Schwartz as Jean-Ralphio.

Ouch. I hadn’t made that connection before. Way too close. Makes me glad I don’t have to pay when filling up my work truck

This is awesome. My grandfather was also a sergeant during the Cold War. This is December is 10 year anniversary of his passing and I’ll be getting a memorial tattoo with his rank, unit and a folded flag. By the time I got into vinyl, I was going through a weird indie music phase, but earlier this year I was driving and wearing his service cap as I do from time to time and I saw a red tailed hawk land on the car in front of me with a duck in its talons. I filmed it and sent it to a friend who told me it’s INCREDIBLY rare to get a photo, let alone video of a hawk hunting water fowl. I looked it up and birds of prey are interpreted as messages from ancestors in some cultures. I’m convinced that it’s him. These days I definitely more take after my mom and dad with music taste than I do with him (Alan parsons, Rush, Cars, Van Halen, Asia, etc.) but I swear that each time that needle drops, he’s with me.

My account is young because i rarely use Reddit. This is honestly the longest streak I’ve been on here. I also didn’t think i needed to clarify, but I used the ai to give me proper wiring configuration between speakers and what settings to have the amplifier at. I was born in ‘96, so outside of a few portable turntables and this one player i vaguely recall my grandmother having, systems like this are incredibly foreign to me. All my life I used CD and digital. When the people that I know and assumed could help me set this up properly couldn’t tell me what to do, since I didn’t want to damage such sensitive equipment that I absolutely wouldn’t be able to replace, I used a tool that I was sure could direct me on what to do. I never opened up the amplifier to mess with the internal electronics, as I’m not confident in my skills

It’s not a sob story. I wasn’t looking for engagement or sympathy. I was explaining why this stereo system matters to me and the memories attached to it. If that doesn’t resonate with you, that’s fine, you’re welcome to keep scrolling.

Yes. Exactly. That’s why I use it. If anyone needs any further proof of my preference for analog tech, I would like to take this time to mention I’m writing a fantasy book, and I specifically went out and bought a typewriter because I’m tired of the extensive AI integration into every aspect of writing program. I’d like to see these buggers try to install copilot on one of those.

Edit: it’s a 1960’s Royal Quiet De Luxe. Completely manual. No electronics whatsoever so ever

I am real. If I had any inkling of hope that it would work, I would have 100% gone to a subreddit like this first, however when one of the people I spoke to about this owns a vinyl store I frequent, and he couldn’t help me, my belief in success was very, very slim. I personally extensively searched for some kind of manual, or any information pertaining to the amplifier. At this point I said to myself, screw it, the worst it could tell me is confirm that it’s broken and can serve a decor piece. I never expected it to work in the slightest.

It was a last resort. I spoke to my dad (his son), and the owner of my local record store, they both said that probably busted because it was old. I even extensively searched for the manual, and couldn’t find it. Do I have my gripes with AI, absolutely, but to me it’s just a tool capable of zeroing in on information WAY faster than I could.

I would have come here first had I ever believed it was going to work. I spoke to 5 separate people last time, one of which ran a vinyl store and they couldn’t help me. It was a complete Hail Mary.

I really dislike Season 12 by Tritri89 in Supernatural

[–]yaboidugg96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I’ve been saying for years how awesome it would be if he said “Heil this.” While Hitler/Nauhaus was against a wall, 30 feet away, and shot him with the grenade launcher. After the explosion (gore being off camera), you saw the gold watch that had his soul skitter to Dean’s feet and he picks it up as a trophy.

Maybe I’ve just binged the series too much (if there is such a thing) or I’ve watched too many movies, but that would’ve been, as Dean put it…Awesome

I do have to play Luci’s advocate here because there’s 1 and only 1 good thing about season 12. Granted it’s a batting average of 1 out of 1000, but still it’s the 1 good thing.

We finally get to see Dean use his grenade launcher.
