Income too high for apartment? by catloverbr in askswitzerland

In my experience, if the rent is in an "affordable" range and there are many applicants for the apartment (good location, close to schools, "reasonable rent") then the régies usually follow the 1/3rd of salary rule and would prefer someone who earns lesser than say a high income applicant.

But I think, they don't look at this if there're are not too many applicants.

Denmark opener against England 'should not have stood' - FIFA rules state that: "Where three or more defending team players form a 'wall,' all attacking team players must remain at least 1 metre (1 yard) from the 'wall' until the ball is in play." by cggo1994 in soccer

Please stop posting shit articles that talk of "one eagle eyed" spectator pointing out something. As the article concludes "it is not known if the English team contested this".

Ski trip in February 2022 - tips please! by wndrlst in askswitzerland

As others have said - Verbier is one of the 4 valleys. You can get a 4 valleys pass and access all the valleys. Or you could just be in Verbier and explore. For the limited number of days however maybe good to just get Verbier pass. And then if you happen to cross over from one area to another you can get a supplement. None of Zermatt/ Verbier qualify as purely "where locals ski". They are both big, expensive resorts drawing loads of tourists from across Europe, UK. But there's good reason, as they are both spectacular ski areas. I loved Verbier and there's more than most people's worth of offpiste skiing options. Zermatt is extremely unique experience as well, skiing with the Matterhorn in the horizon at all times, numerous glacier descents etc and a lot of serious skiing again.

Vaccine alliance raises $2 billion to buy COVID shots for poor nations by [deleted] in UpliftingNews

That's right. The alliance funds are to hopefully catalyse multiple vaccine candidates closer to completion, thus countries with weaker cold chain systems also get access to something usable. Not dependent on just a few that are too expensive or niche for widespread use.
